Policy Update for Input Broadcasting Software

why are multiboxers so stubborn? even when blizzard bans the multiboxing program outright you spew stubbornness and delusions. whatever enjoy your playstyle while it lasts.

You clearly have no clue, I was 16 boxing the exact same area on all toons. 8 of them got account closed. I opened a ticket explaining that if I was botting why did only 8 of 16 get hit? They responded with it needs to be looked at by a separate team, after that they reduced the ban to a 6 month suspension, they stated that they discovered automation software on my computer, but that didn’t happen because I wasn’t running anything. They ban accounts that don’t have real inputs often enough and they are tired of trying to figure out who is and isn’t botting because they keep banning the wrong people. Reddit and other sites are FULL of people being banned and it being reversed, if you think that blizz reverses all false positives you are wrong. This is their response to try to solve their own ignorance.

I’m not complaining, Just pointing out the facts this changes nothing.

But you don’t need to if it changes nothing.

People like spreading mis-information, I enjoy stopping it.

Also that isn’t what is happening here. No one knows what is going to happen.

LoL “people hate having to learn new things”
Do you have any idea what a headache it was learning how to use ISboxer was for an absolute newb like me?
Unimaginable, but well worth it to kill rares and world bosses for mounts 5x as fast. If I have to learn something else or learn something less efficient without violating ToS, so be it.

An “alternative” lmao just say loophole. You’re gonna be breaking the rules no matter what you use to multibot unless you’re alt tabbing and 1 stroke = 1 action

im almost wondering if them not knowing…is exactly why they made the change. see how many people really had an opinion on it. it gives Blizzard the perfect opportunity to see the uproar in there own sandbox on the issue…

Ok all this BS… They have given everyone a warning saying this is not acceptable and now they are going to monitor and enforce. You can bot all you like but if you are caught they will punish you, so no screaming out i was banned and not botting.
So what if there is hardware or software, the point is they are watching and people report bott like behavior will investigated more. Simple do what you like , just remember they have warn us all.

No one knows what people will get banned here for. You are just posting your opinions. Well see how it goes once people start getting reported for trying to go around the rules.

No clue about what you were doing, true.

But do understand whenever this conversation happens it inevitably leads to “yes I was not at the keys when I was banned” or “I was hyperspawn farming” which is questionable behavior to begin with.

it’s not a matter of rules. it’s a matter of mathematics and code and understanding how technology actually works. even if they did make a rule against multiboxxing, it woudn’t stop multiboxxers becuase there’s no force on earth that would let the warden detection software out of a sandboxxed virtual environment. computer systems are not like the matrix, there is no mighty neo who can wave his hand and change ones and zeros into rainbows and zebras. the client and blizzard’s security software only detect bots and hacks that are actually on your machine, editing or affecting the memory or input on your computer. how they do said detection, i couldn’t say because every company uses their own methods, but one thing is solid, immutable, unchangeable, and utterly ironclad fact.

they can’t break a sandboxed environment on a virtual machine. the master system allocates and simulates all the parameters of a physical machine, and that’s what the virtual machine thinks it is. there’s no way for blizzard to get around that. so this change won’t stop the bots because the botters will just shift their software out of the virtual machine and up to a higher layer on the overall system. it won’t stop the legitimate multiboxers becuase input management is handled at the software layer of the machine hosting the virtual machines.

nah, they’ll just have to adjust their setup a little and they’ll be back. what works for the 20+ multiboxxers will also work for the smaller guys.

It’s also the fact that they didn’t ban multiboxing they banned software input broadcasters, nothing stops you from using a hardware input broadcaster, It’s what we all used to use.

If they wanted multiboxing to go away all they’d have to do is this

“WE DO NOT TOLERATE MULTIBOXING ANYMORE AND IT IS BANNABLE”

It’s a matter of hardware now.

People are not going to want to alt-tab their gameplay loop. Nope. I won’t. I could wire up my 2nd PC to do some dual boxing but I could also just not play. Not playing sounds better.

The guys 20+ boxing are using multiple machines already. So they’re already mostly there if not fully there to keep trucking. Mind, 20+ boxing one spot is a helluva lot more rudimentary than 5 boxing M+ where you’re constantly splitting and moving characters individually.

You don’t need anything complicated to hyperspawn farm on 20 accounts. Nor do you need anything complicated to farm herb nodes. Follow still exists and what? Multiple mice stacked side by side to pick herbs one by one which by the way many did already.

It’s a disproportionate hit to people who actually play the game. Like the /follow change.

The assumption is we must have been cheating to be banned but the simple fact is that Blizzard has a very hard time telling the difference between multiboxers, botters, and multiboxing botters. So they get it wrong sometimes, and you just have to eat the ban.

You’re generalizing all multiboxers as botters/gold farmers and have completely glossed over the fact its two completely different communities that only share a software.

It’s not more common because of this program, botting has and always will be present in MMO’s. The software will change, but that’s about it.

In the end the only people being affected by this are the people who were playing legit and in accordance with the ToS at the time. Once those players are gone, all you will be left with are the botters and gold farmers. You won nothing and lost good players who just wanted to play a unique playstyle. People who would go out of there way to stop farming when someone came through, who would assist in rare and elite kills, who spent there gold on the AH to pay for their subs and buy gear to keep their team up to snuff.

I’m already in the process of sourcing and testing computers that can run wow for as cheap as possible and setting up multiplexers among other things to get back up and running. They said they will warn us first so I’m going to set up VM’s first. The last GM I talked with exclusively stated that he doesn’t know what is or isn’t allowed which is super reassuring…

I have difficulty with this because I multiboxed WoW from Wrath to BFA. Never once did any GM speak with me about what I was doing nor did anyone ever suspend or ban any of my accounts. Not once in all these years. This being in an open world with other people no doubt smashing their report buttons in anger just seeing me in the world with them.

Where I sit they don’t do it lightly.
