Plz let us opt out of racial starting zones

Please let us opt out of racial starting zones.

OPTING OUT IS NOT THE SAME AS SKIPPING THOSE LEVELS. Read on for what I mean.

I would like to suggest that after making a Pandaren, Worgen or Goblin once we get the option to teleport ahead to the main land the next time we make one. A Bronze Dragon could just port us to Orgrimmar or Stormwind or to the Orc or Human starting areas and we can level there instead.

The racial starting areas are wonderful but after many years have passed they have gotten stale since you are on rails the entire time. It’s the same experience every time through. With heirlooms it is even possible to overlevel the quests and end up with a bunch of grays so you are not even getting experience, just grinding through so you can play the game.

It would be a lot of fun to run around, say, Elwynn as a low level Worgen (worgen will need to get two forms upon interacting with the dragon btw) and just doing as I please if I’m not feeling an hour or two of Gilneas…again.

(Same could be done for Death Knights but since the DK quests are a little bit shorter and serve to introduce the playstyle of a DK, DK abilities, and the mount I can understand this being more difficult to achieve)

I have precisely 1 worgen, 1 goblin, and 1 pandaren alt, pretty much for the reason of the starting zone. They were cool to do once, and I am an alt-loving, leveling-loving demon, but one go-through on those stories was enough.

Well in the Worgen starting zone, things happen to you that I don’t think could be replicated outside. You aren’t the same when you leave the starting zone as you were when it ends.

I am trying to stay slightly vague fir anyone that hasn’t run it before. We get new people every day.

But leaving there after character creation would require all the stuff to be applied to you right then. You would end up with way more abilities and more powerful than you should be at level 1.

I don’t see a problem with the others though.

how does having the worgen racial abilities make you more powerful than any other level 1?

Dark flight and Running Wild would be op in a normal starting zone @ level 1.

It has been awhile. Like years since I started a new worgen. Maybe you don’t get Running Wild until you would otherwise unlock riding.

you’ve always gotten running wild at 20, and even if you got it sooner, so what? the heirloom mount makes the level requirement for mounts irrelevant.

and darkflight really wouldn’t be that crazy at level 1, in fact, I think it has less uses at level 1 than it does at higher levels.

They’d have to completely change Worgen in order to do this. That’s not happening.

Personally, I’m of the belief that every race should be forced to stay in their starter zone and not be allowed to go elsewhere. Because it’s their entire backstory.

Maybe I am wrong. It happens but it does seem a little op to me. Heck every other level one toon as exactly 2 buttons to press.

If you don’t like the Death Knight starting zone, you don’t deserve to have one.

It’s like, one of the best parts of the entire game.

You can already get out of the worgen starting zone as a worgen with RaF.

Interesting. Do you get your worgen form right away at level 1 then? Because you gain that through questing and not at a certain level.

I skipped the zone on this very character! You basically just keep on being human 'til you log out or hit a loading screen.

When you poof back, boom, dog-person.

Well awesome then. I remember when you couldn’t even run to another race’s start zone until level 6 because none of their quests were available to you until then. Obviously things have changed. Thanks for the information.

I think the only reason the core races are even played now is because allieds have the grind involved.
Why on earth would I start a worgen or goblin at level 1 and have that LOOOOOOOOOOONG storyline…every…single…time…over…and…over…when I can just fire up a LFD, HMT or VE and jump right into dungeons.
I wouldnt personally.

Id love to start new worgens but aint no way Im doing it.

With 120 levels now they should just have core races be able to start at level 20 like allieds IF the player has any 110s or maybe even 100 level characters just to show theyve played a bit already.

I doubt they do it, however. Too important to do crap like change forum software instead of fixing bugs or making the game more enjoyable.

No changing of Worgen required. Heck until very recently people could swim out of Gilneas and glitch out of that whole starting area. You die now if you try but back then you’d just pop up with Two Forms. I think the ability is there from level 1 just blocked by something in Gilneas until you do that quest. That block is removed when you leave Gilneas.

Both Worgen and Goblins can leave with a Warlock summon, no harm done. Pandas, like I said, would need to pick a faction.

This
Or a warlock summon. Well its what i did last time i did it in legion.

I know you can still get out with RaF or a Warlock but why use a workaround when they could just implement something to do it directly (if we have, say, a lvl 20 of that race already)?

I support this idea!

What backstory, after you’ve done one already? Are you trying to convince us we forget after leveling up one goblin and need to be forced to in order to remind us, even though you think we’re going to forget immediately again? Or that the story changes?

Have you actually leveled more than one goblin, worgen, and pandaren?
