Plz don't tune the new TWW raid based on "Race to the World First"

Why should the Mythic raid be beaten within the first 1-2 weeks, it should be the highest level of the game that couldn’t be beaten for a long time, it is the fantasy of the raid, a scary place to step foot in. Why tunning it for some organization who exploits the game for financial gains. It does NOTHING to the everyday wow gamers, these guilds will then sell mythic runs to get gold for the next round of pay-to-win “world first”.

The raids are nerfed before most guilds even get to them on mythic. They might released tuned that way but the later fights are almost always nerfed before most mythic guilds even get to them. It’s really less of a problem than most people think in my opinion.

And this is based on? Your recollection of how Vanilla WoW was?

The reality is, the game back then had bosses “nerfed” through gear progression. I.e. bosses became easier as you got better gear. However, in the current game, gear acquisition is basically done by first month. So, Blizzard has two options here.

  1. Nerf gear acquisition and slow ilvl creep. It’s unlikely they’d go down this road because slowing the rate of earned gear and rewards ultimately leads to less interested players and lower subs.

  2. Add a dmg aura increase as the season progresses to make it feel like players are getting more powerful - which is what I think they’re doing for TWW.

We’re discussing introducing a system that has similar vibes to Reorigination Array back in Uldir, the first raid tier of BFA, except we’ll be leveraging the quest system. It’ll buff players over time. Right now we’re looking at the buff capping out at about 20% increased player power while you’re within that raid and that will also apply to your Warband! That’ll be cool, that’ll be something that if you come in later with your alts, you can have that extra player power across everyone on your account for that content. Depending on how that’s received and how well that achieves our goals, we’ll look to expand that system or try to tie it more closely with our itemization system. There’s a lot of ways we could expand that itemization, but we wanted to try to do something for War Within.

That is not true if you watch the race at all, whenever the top two guilds are stuck on a certain boss they will whine and cry about not able to go home for the holiday, waiting for the reset and timing their wake-up time for the next reset, “expert” will try to predict when the nerf will drop so they are the winner. It is heavily influenced by the race, the race itself is uninteresting, they do split runs on 10 or something alts and pay millions of golds to buy gears from other players. After such race the company will get sponsors and the individuals will continue to milk the community from their streams while their guild will sell mythic runs in game.

Because the RWF people who do that are spending as much time in those 1-2 weeks as the rest of us normies would in months of prog…

You’re right. The tuning of Mythic raid bosses (at least past the first one or two) over the first couple of weeks is almost completely irrelevant to everyday WoW gamers.

Okay, believe what you want to I guess, but this is how they make a lot of their income. Similar to a lot of other events that operate in a similar fashion, this is how people make a living. It is not okay to poo all over that because your either jealous, or think that this has bearing on the tuning of the game or raids. The bulk of the tuning comes down to the top 100-200 actually, typically when that closes is when we see the heavy handed nerfs. It gives guilds time to do the content at the pace their able to, in that some can do it in two weeks, others might take an entire tier.

This is the same poster who spent all day yesterday complaining that Ret Aura was both (a) totally necessary for raiding, so its removal was a travesty, and (b) completely irrelevant so it didn’t matter and should have stayed in.

These are beaten in this time frame by the best players in the world.

Instead of thinking of it in terms of 1-2 weeks, think of it in terms of hours they spend raiding.

Any guild could beat the raid in 2 weeks if they raided 16 hours a day

This is what a lot of people dont understand, they also do whatever they can to basically get 1 month of gear in 1 week. Plus they are the best players in the game, nobody cant take that away from them, but the race is won by prep work not in game skill.

It’s not Sunday yet.

Yet the same 2 tend to win the race when 7-8 guilds put in similar hours.

Maybe they’re cheating then

Or maybe they are really really good at the game.

Echo and liquid have a lot of helpers to do their splits, something that not even the rest of the top 10 can match. Plus with their sponsor they all play on the same place.

They are still the best players in the world, but they have a lot of extra things that put them a step above the rest.

Nah. Has to be something else.

For sure with splits.

Playing in the same place is a relatively new thing. Same as having Max as a 21st man (then they still lose).

So your guild agrees and follows those organization who pay to win in this game without coming up with your own Strat, do you can come over here flashing your CE status after copying other ppl and spending unhealthy amount of time in a video game, congratulations, you still havnt answer the question, can your guild kill mythic with or without ret aura, yes or no

Nah you’re just bad at the game :joy:
