Lfr not sharing a lockout, while giving full teir (even if the item level is lower) and powerful trinkets gives a huge insensitive to do lfr and heroic raiding, which easily disrupts the current player behavior.
There are two possibilities here and I donât think anyone knows which is correct. One, there is a majority of hard core players who do not want to do lfr runs. If thatâs the case they could easily form a new guild that doesnât require lfr runs. The mere threat of creating a new guild by a majority of members would no doubt convince guild leaders to not require it.
Two, most hard core players like the simple means of getting the small benefit of lfr gear. If most hard core players like and want to do lfr then those few who donât can easily find a guild that doesnât require it. I played 5 expansions that had lfr and was in a few guilds over those years and none of them required members to run lfr.
Whether most hard core players like lfr or most donât thereâs no reason to make a change because the problem is easily solved by other means.
Being able to gear most your raid out with the new teir and trinkets within 1-2 weeks isnt small.
Cata lfr isnt personal loot. Its need/greed.
Which means the guild can use alts to push through the easy content and funnel teir and trinkets to a handful of raiders mains.
Being able to enter H dragon soul week 1 with more than half of your raid with 4pc bonus of the new teir and bis (though lower ilvl) trinkets is not a small benifit.
Make it share lockouts and this issue is fixed. And the casuals get their easy story mode raid as well.
Ok, that doesnât change the gist of my post. If the majority want to do lfr for the large benefit then it isnât a problem. Those who want to do it can and the few who donât can easily find a guild that doesnât require it. If the majority donât want to do lfr there would easily be enough to form a new guild that doesnât require it, if necessary if the leaders refused to follow the desires of the majority.
I was in a guild on Bloodsail and the leaders wanted to transfer to Mankirk. They communicated that to the members and we had a few days discussion to see what the majority wanted. The low pop of Bloodsail was a problem for the majority of the guild and they decided to transfer. I and a few others didnât want to transfer so we stayed behind and found new guilds. It wasnât a big deal. We had a civilized conversation where all the guild members had an opportunity to weigh in before a decision was made. Why canât the hard core guilds do that?
I suspect the reason you canât do that or donât want to do that is because the majority want to do lfr for the large benefit it brings. Youâre in a distinct minority and you want blizzard to change the game to remove the option from the majority to force them to play your way.
If they want to do lfr im fine with that, but it should share lockouts to avoid hyper gearing which drastically reduces the challenge of the new teir and speeds up the consumption rate.
Progression for the more casual players is part of what keeps the game alive.
If my memory serves, Dragon Soul in LFR was pretty easy. It was my first experiment into LFR and was a bit surprised how easy it was, but I never really found Dragon Soul difficult in non-LFR modes either. DS felt like it was an afterthought tbh⌠but my memory is not as good as it used to be remembering that far back.
Actually, his argument is very relevant. If you are being carried in a GDKP then you are not raiding, you are paying-to-win, nothing more.

Then she wants to bring up how much I spent in a single GDKP run for multiple pieces of loot. Because I was participating, that is not considered a carry. She canât even get the number I spent right. All this is a bunch of jealous kids. Jealous I have 7/7H on multiple toons, jealous that I have enough gold to spend over 400k in a single GDKP run and still not be broke. A typical carry means dps (or heals) skills are bad/low and therefore you paid someone to carry you through a raid. No one is jealous you paid someone gold/money to carry you through something you could not do on your own.

theres probably some thing that ties LFR and the backpack together, and by removing LFR, theyâd break the game. (that was a legit issue at some point with the backpack and how the original devs coded the game iirc)
