Just make it like 500, its just too rare.
I mean, it is a Northrend world drop epic for a reason, the chances of getting one is infintesmally small.

but its also a toy! I can only farm icecrown elites for so many months
It’s not like it drops only from Icecrown elites, I don’t even know if that increases the chances of it dropping. I honestly think you’d be better off farming a low level dungeon like Utgard Keep.
It only drops from northrend elites lvl 78+
i do daily heroics on 9 characters, I farmed 3 blue proto drakes soloing H UP.
Everyday I kill elites in icecrown for 2 hours, I clear ICC on 4 chars a week.
Ive been playing wotlk since launch, I have seen exactly zero simian spheres drop.
Ah so it seems, All The Things just said it was a Northrend world drop, didn’t specify any further. Still though I think putting it onto a vendor is a bit much.
Thats why I figure 500 is a solid number.
Id even be happy if it was 1000.
If they were to add it to the scourgestone vendor then yeah I’d honestly be fine with 500/1000 but it’s them adding a world drop to a vendor that’s an issue because it would then lead to others asking for other rare items to be put onto a vendor. For example, the Hyacynth Macaw, Firefly or the Disgusting Oozling pets

Those examples are also not even remotely in the same category of rarity.
Simian Sphere is single handedly the rarest drop item in the game.
Im happy you would be happy but its not about you. Those items are supposed to be rare.

You have nothing productive to the conversation. You probably don’t understand the rarity of the item.
People who have played for over 15 years most likely still don’t have this item on retail.
It should be added on the vender or its drop increased. We’re about to begin cataclysm and the only way people will have an even remotely fair chance of getting one is adding it.
You have a better chance of completing a thunderfury than seeing this item. Infact I have 4 thunderfuries in classic aswell as 1 additional binding set. Simian sphere has a 0.2 drop chance on the world epic table, then it has to roll it and its BoP.

Have seen the item plenty of itimes. BMAH also offers it from time to time for a good price

I think my point still stands, they’re rare and most wouldn’t want to spend the gold for it but if you want another example then fine.
People might ask for Don Carlos’ Famous Hat or rare mounts such as Ashes of Al’ar.
I’d of said the the other mounts but they were added into the tank/healer bag.
No, I highly doubt that it is, Ashes is way rarer simply because it’s a ~2% drop with a weekly lockout whereas you can spam dungeons all you want trying to farm the sphere. Odds are is that it has the same drop rate as any other epic.
The same will apply to Invincible and Mimirons Head once we’re in Cataclysm as I believe that they’re also ~2%.
Even that’s not a good enough reason for it to be put onto a vendor, let it be rare, why make it more common isn’t it rarity part of its appeal or do you think it just looks cool so you want it?
Honestly I think doing that would make it be less special, it’s like using a title in the first week or so of the raid. After a while everyone’s using it and it’s no longer as special as it once was so you go change it to something else.

I know the one rare in Dragonblight has a rather high chance to get it an it respawns like every 10min.
I farmed it in retail once and had it after 1-2 days or so
Those are easily farmable and have limited loot tables.
