I see no reason to continue to keep the 3 day lock out. Let us farm the crap out of it from now till phase 2. All the stuff in there will quickly be replaced anyway.
At least this will give us something to do on our alts or for those of us that are extremely unlucky who have done 10+ BFD raids without winning 1 piece of loot
Yup the lock outs need to go away. If they have to timegate progression, just cap how many BoP raid pieces you can get per week or something along those lines.
Agreed. 10 man raids in classic have no lockouts. 20 man raids have 3 day lockouts, and 40 man raids have 7 day lockouts. Stick to the conventions already established blizzard. UBRS didn’t have a lockout, and neither should BFD.
nup, 10/25 with lockouts was a tbc thing. All the 10 man raids in classic have no lockout. Most of them ended up getting nerfed into 5 mans during OG vanilla, but you can still bring 10 people for them, UBRS was the only one that actually remained as a proper 10 man.
I think at the beginning of the phase, the lockout makes sense. It encourages people to do the other non-lockout content in order to farm their pre-bis. Otherwise, everyone would just farm the raid, and other content would only see little play except maybe for that niche item that isn’t available in raid.
However, I agree with you that for the second half of each phase, blizzard should remove the lockout. Give people the opportunity to finish their BIS and enjoy performing in the raid with BIS gear before the next phase drops.
100% agree, not just for people looking for their BiS, removing the lockout mid way helps alts gear up and even new players catch up before the next phase.
This isn’t a good idea because BFD is end game content for Phase 1, It is not good Classic game design to be able to get your BIS in one sitting and then just log off. Classic wow is a time progression game, you are not entitled to all the loot, nor should you expect all the loot. The sense of earning that you have in SoD should remained intact. Every week since I’ve been raiding BFD i have received 1-2 pieces of loot minimum on my main per week. That constant smile I had after a raid and then could go play around with my sets of gear and go into WSG has been so fun.
WoW is built on a subscription model. If someone degens for a week and gets their BIS and quits, Blizzard doesn’t keep getting their sub money.
It’s also just healthier for the game for people to be slowed down a bit. Log in every so often, play with their friends, maybe do something else while the raid is on lockout. Maybe roll an alt. Etc.
I can see how removing the lockout would make the other dungeons obsolete but that is no fault of the BFD. They should’ve updated the old 5 man loot to make it worth hunting. Make sense of the crappy itemization in the vanilla or make everything https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=6465/robe-of-the-moccasin.
I’d like this, would probably rush up a few more characters for BFD too as I enjoy running it and it should not be as difficult finding groups or playing with guild members.
My hunter has gone 7/7 5 or 6 times with a single item so far. My Pally is in a good spot but needs the trinket still and the guild that picked me up as their 10th kinda ninjaed the epic from me today so still a struggle to get a good weapon.
Terrible idea. Lockout should remain in place until the next raid is released. The next raid should be delayed several weeks after the next phase starts to allow people to level first.
