Please stop trying to force SSF on Hardcore

The entire reason the rules existed was because the hardcore playerbase was intermingled with the non-hardcore players. When the entire server is hardcore, it shouldn’t matter.

Let Solo Self Found be an OPTION for people that want it, read that again; an OPTION but stop trying to force it on people. Stop trying to turn hardcore into a single player experience.

And if you wanna play normal classic go play normal classic. Its called Hardcore not softcore.

They already increased dungeon running but openly allowing full trade, mail, and AH significantly takes away the difficulty of Anything Hardcore.

Well, if you want it to be harder don’t trade, mailbox, or AH. If you really hate official hardcore you can stay on Bloodsail Buccaneers with the purists using the addon.

How though? Can you explain how without the “Oh you can just buy your gear from the auction house!” because if you think its gonna be cheap to buy twink gear then I have a bridge in Cali I’d like to sell you.

Nothing wrong with the hardcore community being allowed to group for quests rather than standing in line, or trading loot they cant use but someone else can, or even mail bags to alts they might want to level. Its all gonna go away if the person dies anyways. Why does it matter how someone else plays the game?

Hows is it hardcore if you have alts lined up with a row of bags or upgraded weapons and gear every few levels? Or can power level a profession right outta gate.

Bridge in California? Sharp as a marble?

Because all of that stuff disappears as soon as you die at level 13 in Westfall again, back to Elwynn soldier!

I think people are seriously over estimating the skill and abilities of all the people who are going to be doing this. Less than 2% of people will make it to 60; people siphoning off 20% of their income and BoEs to an alt aren’t going to improve their odds when their mains can’t even make it past level 40, they’re just going to speed up the return back to 40 (only to die again).

I can hear the gold sellers rejoicing already.

You can easily get 1g at lvl 20-25 which is massive for a fresh char and its nothing for a 35-40 toon. And that breaks the HC spirit. With so little gold you will be able to get the starter herbs to make some useful pots with alch. Or make your 1st wand at lvl 1 as a priest which is massive. Most ppl die at lvl 13-14 in HC. A lvl 40 can easily feed 10 alts without a problem. Trading and groupin takes away they rejoice of doing something really hard by yourself. If you have tried it, even whites are such enourmous upgrades at low level. Trading is going to take that away. Getting a 6 slot bag below level 10 is already a blessed run. You will be able to get 4 8slotters super easy this way… doesn’t feel like Hardcore at all. But yeah we already have a server with the rules we want, we can stay there. Just feels bad man, that they hyped us for nothing

For example, today I made a quest that needed to kill 15 Crushridge warmongers (lvl 40-41 leets - I even remember the name of the mobs) and I did it as a 38 alone, and it was hard, had a couple close calls. Got a nifty wand as a reward and I felt good with the accomplishment. It is a feeling that I stopped having for a long time in wow.

The idea behind HC is not the destination, but the journey

World of Warcraft is an MMORPG. The game is designed around social interaction. People who complain about social interaction ruining the game don’t seem to understand that. Those people also don’t seem to understand their place in the social network. Players have the option to play the game in any way that they choose. Players choices within the game determine the nature of the social network within that game. It’s insane to just ignore the fact that Hardcore started as a grassroots movement within Classic. We the players have already proven that we don’t need Blizzard to create a social structure for us, that we can do it ourselves within the parameters they give us. I really don’t understand the argument against social features in blizzard sanctioned hardcore servers. It’s just insane to me.

Players can and will funnel gear to bank and auction alts that cannot die off as they never leave the city.

Very VERY early into the game, I would say a month or less, you will see the AH flooded with greens, and they will intentionally be cheap enough for new players or players on a new toon to just deck out and go. It takes the challenge away from early game hard encounters that you otherwise would, and should, have to think about, plan, and maybe consider waiting to take on

No, it doesn’t vanish, not the stocked stuff. you should not be able to stock up like that

There is no social interaction on the named mob. You run up, invite a player or ask them to invite you, you kill the mob, maybe say “ty” and leave group. 0 social about that.

Even less social about an auction house, do you ever whisper someone to thank them for selling that nice item to you via the AH?

bro this is the cringiest post ive ever seen, why deny people something that could just be an opt in. i bet you get mad at gbids, or people reserving items.

Yeah we have Classic Era servers with a set of rules, retail servers with another set of rules… why can we have just a couple servers with the HC addon set of rules? You don’t like it, we all can stay at different servers with different sets of rules and everyone is goingto be happy. Just my 2 cents.

I have been playing wow por more than 15 years and HC gave me back the feeling I lost.

Worst thing that can happen is that we stay at HC addon servers and thats it (Hydraxian Waterlords and Bloodsail bucannersfor anyone who wants to try)

There is literally nothing stopping you from doing your SSF challenge on the Hardcore servers, the same way you did them on Softcore servers with addons.

Let people play how they want. It’s good enough to have the most important rule: If you die your character is gone.

Anything beyond that, you can customize for yourself.

Personally, I’m interested in seeing what the economy will look like.

TLDR: SSF HC purists have no leg to stand on, because they already are self-imposing rules and using addons to track that. The same can be done on the official servers.

Nowhere in that tag does it suggest that one must socialize. It only indicates that you will encounter many players.

Why would you want to be able to do a gdkp and have someone rush you through content for items you didn’t actually earn? You guys all do realize there is no hardcore non ironman OSRS because you could just transfer gp over and max without ever being in a risky situation making it kinda pointless.

Well as i said in a lot of threads where it’s disscussed - the only thing that blizz really should consider restricting - is hoarding gold and stuff on a banking alts, so if character dies all it’s stuff goes away with it. As for buying stuff from ah - i don’t see anything bad about that really.

Make all green + weapons, armor, amulets and rings bind on pickup until level 60.

Do you realize how ridiculously difficult it would be to comb through and change so many individual items in the loot table just for one HC server? I’ll bet they’d never bother to do that to change all servers’ versions of the game, never mind just one!
