What im concerned about is the LvL experience, It’s the reason anyone started playing the game in the first place. The RPG Experience as well can be easily broken. Addon’s is wows Original Sin. Add-on’s Shaped the game In the following years; it was a big part of what shaped retail as it is today.
If it interests anyone, I stream. I play mostly Elder Scroll’s III: Morrowind, and World of Warcraft Classic Era as of right now.
My username is, Doomphd101, on Twitch.
I play Classic Era with a PS4 Controller. I use 2 Add-ons, I use Voice Over Classic, and Consoleport.
If they idea interests anyone, please give the stream a gander sometime.
Though i dont love all the features of consoleport there are a few freatures that are a needed evil, Mostly cuz i cant turn them off, but one of them because i need it to heal with a controller.
Also its really weird to shape the whole game around the last 10 to 20% of the game… I feel like you are either talking about early progression raiding and/or Naxx and maybe AQ40? Cuz like 90% of the game isnt close to being as hard as naxx.
<3<3<3<3<3 Hearts all around.
They can, and have, made changes in one version that did affect the other.
For instance the 25% damage nerf in BG’s on SoD, which does not affect Era.
They changed the UI, they changed the interaction with things like Prowl and Stealth and the Grave yards out in the world, they change how you can no longer buff neutral units in the world; only faction units can be buffed. The out of combat timer seems to take much longer now, the time between when I cast REP and when I can actually mount is like 7/8 sec… In actual Vanilla or Classic 2019 I was able to start casting my mount before rep was even run out of time @ like 5 sec ish… leaving me 1 sec.
There are lots of other little nuances, excluding changes to the PVP system that are both good and bad.
Stuff there i didn’t even know about. They changed alot of stuff, even beyond that. I’m sure you are more aware of it than me; as your comment suggests. It begs the question, why? What really is the point? I just don’t know why blizzard can’t just be super lazy with classic era and just do Maintence for it. lol All they can do is change their games into the ground. lol Betraying their initial fanbase.
They should make one classic era server and use it like a retirement home, literally the oldest client and versions of the game
If it’s a toggle able option then it’s literally the exact same as an addon. You don’t have to turn it on, nor will you ever know someone else has it on.
So what’s the issue.
Oh ok you’re a troll, got it, I’m done reading lmao
It doesnt seem to be a totally togglable option. I can see the count down of debuffs on me and enemies. I havent figured out if you can turn that off yet. Beyond that, its just illogical; if they have an addon that most people use, then why add it into the game its self. The game should be experianced out of the box as close as it can be to what it once was.
That literally means nothing it points to nothing but my real life struggles wirh the game. Are you daft? Insenstive, or both?
There is no toggle for this sad
“I quit because something 99% of people already used got built into the game.”
Any chance you can quit again?
Making a jump from cast bars… yanno… figuring out what a mob or person is doing to you so you can react to it … with… TRANSMOG?
my god. The dent is multiple inches in ya noggin…
It would be cool if they changed their minds and opened a single TBC server.
Honestly, Blizzard’s attitude towards addons is kinda what ruined this game. Basically the freedom they allow users with addons are what all of the bot programs rely on to function.
Addons should be like a community made beta test for ideas blizzard either accepts or deletes. Like adding extra skillbars, quest markers on map, thats fine. As long as everyone gets to see it when it gets implemented into the vanilla UI. But other things like raid boss mechanics getting dumbed down should be removed and banned from the game square enix style. By the end of the day you should have a minimal usage for addons.
Maybe for like extremely niche things that don’t really break the game or make it easier, but just help your OCD or whatever. Everything else should be made vanilla or banned. Like I’m playing SoD and 95% of my addons are literally just adding what the retail UI already has functionality for. So its like… why did we even dumb down the UI to begin with? I’m not using weak auras, but I do like to see where to turn my quests in and have a combined inventory screen.
What people fail to realise cuz they are bad at games and know nothing about game theroy is that addons are 3 party software which is not an offfical part of the game; sanctioned; but unoffical, so each thing they add devalues the vanilla experince. Its that simple. Dont act like thats not true. Vanilla skyrim isnt vanilla skyrim with mods, to a lesser extend the same with wow.
90% of addons are for players whoms prowess is pathetic and can’t get good so they use a crutch or a wheelchair.
If this was true, the game wouldn’t support addons and the apis necessary for them to work.
No changes period. Reqd my post under yours. You arr reasonable here, but nothing thats not game break should never be changed.
Now they have MOP Classic coming.
I hope they stop calling them Classic, because they are not classic. They take the original xpac, then make hundreds of changes and tweaks to make it easier and faster, then launch it and call it Classic. These versions are NOTHING like these xpacs were when live. NOTHING.
There is the real WoW population that plays retail, the true WoW. And then bitter vets that play the fake classic versions because things are easier and faster and then they feel special doing things they couldnt do in the real game.
But there is only one WOW. Why diminish it by continuing to create sort-of-but-not-really classic versions of past expansions.
WOW gave players two years to enjoy each xpac. That is it. After that, you can still enjoy that xpac, but the new xpac systems will be in place. Everyone was fine with this. All we wanted was vanilla content back in the game. Or as WoW Classic, just vanilla, without tweaks or changes. And we still have not seen that. Every freaking classic version they release is NOTHING like that content was when live.
So in 10 years or less, we will be releasing a new xpac and then the previous xpac will be launched (AGAIN) as classic. How ridiculous is that???
Their ONLY chance is to stop at MoP classic. And then everything after MOP is non classic and we dont have to see those xpacs go through the same tweaks and changes the other xpacs did.
It’s so sad to see a game I played for 20 years and loved everything about, now be slowly picked apart into multiple versions that are nothing like the real thing.
It will only get worse. All we wanted was vanilla content with no changes. And we are still waiting for that to happen.
So when you wonder why people don’t bother with classic realms, now you know. So sad.
