Please start handing out permanent silences

Theirs an eventually a punishment for that person for saying awful things.

And sometimes the very same punishment can even punish the innocent players, cause they dare to annoy the person with their levelheaded opinions, or not even anything at all, just saying Hi, things like that.

i think OP’s idea of perma silencing, unless it’s applied to those with repeated offenses or abused the silence system, isn’t really a great idea to apply it to everyday nasty things said on the internet like Racism/sexism, etc.

I would reckon that it’s possibly the people who abuse the report feature to silence people they don’t like.

I miss the real 2004 zone chat and global chat where it was like anything goes, even stuff that you would normally see in actual racist forums.

False, since if that happens to someone they open a ticket and get the silence removed and the person that abused it - gets actioned. Because it’s against the ToU to do that.

Yeah trade chat gets pretty obnoxious most of the time, if I feel like it I’ll disable it if I’m trying not to get distracted xD But yeah WoW has so many people and like anywhere on the internet a whole bunch of keyboard warriors, know-it-all’s and basic idiots, You can report sure and sometimes it’ll be looked into I imagine but not sure how often. Easiest way is to just mute the ones you see that are causing nothing but issues. Sometimes trades pretty entertaining as well not gonna lie lol.

Right click report for language. I read about somebody one time up tk an 8 month silence.

It doubles each time so it can stack quickly if they do not adapt.

I can’t leave trade I’d miss all the chuck norris jokes

Report for language until the window is clean. It doesn’t take much since one report will clear surrounding messages.

Your trade chat will get better if you do this. Also, using profanity filter can marginally help until your language report(s) clears things.

Some people will always say things to try to dissuade others from having rules enforced. Those are the ones you can ignore.

You obviously don’t play Overwatch.

But they can’t control other people that way.

Part of growing up is learning to accept responsibility for your own actions. You know, instead of being a snowflake and crying about the very idea that you might be punished because you can’t bring yourself to be a halfway decent person online.

Online content not rated by the ESRB.

Yeah, I suspect your are right. Really kind of sad.

I was over Trade chat the first week I started playing so I made a separate window for it. When I tab to it from my chat windows, the experience is brief but gets the job done then just leave it alone.

Good luck.

IDK about US servers these days but on OCE we still have people doing the whole " (censored) for the children" every Tuesday before maintenance.

The community polices itself. Act like a jerk in chat you get silenced. Hopefully you learn not to act like a jerk. If not you get silenced for longer.
