Discussions for both SoD and Era would be far more productive if they each had their own clearly labeled forums <3
100% agree. SoD talk is just not relevant at all to the Era experience, and most of us don’t want it to be.
Hardcore had a forum created on the day the official hardcore servers released. So here is hoping.
yes, please remove these SoDers
You’ll be in the SoD forums all day every day
See ya in Teldrassil at SoD launch!
Eyr gonna have 6 characters all level 25 by 12/5
I’d be fine but for whatever weird reason SoM never got one.
Blizz keepin people guessin.
I feel like that would make things unnecessarily difficult for Glinda, they would have to constantly refresh TWO tabs all day instead of one like they do now.

These forums would be way more useful if they went back to being just for Era.
Don’t you do it, Blizz! Don’t you dare segregate the SoD enjoyers. The SoD dislikers must learn to coexist peacefully with the rest of the Classic community, in full blown loving harmony!
It can’t be harmony when SoD is actively hostile to Era.
Era only wants to be left alone.
Neither Era nor SoD are sentient.
They don’t have wants or needs.
Oh how I wish that were true.
You’re so thoughtful.
I’ll manage.
This forum is called “Classic General Discussion” and topics dealing with all iterations under the Classic banner (Era, Hardcore, seasonal and even progression (currently Wrath soon to be Cataclysm) are fine here. Usually since they have their own forums the HC and Wrath folk post elsewhere but all Classic topics are welcome here.
Relax.
Even if seasonal doesn’t get their own forum, just ignore the obvious threads that have nothing to do with Era. Heck, mute topics if you must to curate your experience. The drop down near the bottom of the page just above Suggested Topics gives you that option to mute. You can ignore individual users as well if you wish - like myself if you believe I’m being hostile to you. Click my portrait or anyone you choose, then “View Activity”, then on the right side of the next page the drop down with the options of “Normal”, “Muted” and “Ignored”. You’ll be prompted to select a timeframe and then finally click the “Ignore” button.
Best of luck to you.
This is why a bit before the SoD announcement I made a separate post asking for Era to get its own forums. I think it is important to the long term health of Era for the community there to have a dedicated place to have discussions, voice concerns, and show consensus on topics.
(All the responses to that post were basically along the lines of: “these are the official Era forums” - link to post from 20 days ago: Official Era Forums? )
The need for official Era forums was drastically amplified with the announcement of SoD.
I agree that it is possible to mute topics and hostile posters, however I think the forums should generally be welcoming and the last couple weeks have shown it is very hard to do that when two game modes that appeal to very different players are squeezed together in a single place.
If there is a simple fix that can be done to prevent players from facing such hostility - it would seem healthy for blizzard to act upon it sooner than later. Adding another category to the forums is fairly trivial.
Edit: Even Glinda replied to the original post:
Oh how I wish that was still true
Please make us an SoD forum so these era andies can talk about their first MC experience every day or whatever it is they talk about.
What the heck is there to talk about in era these days?
One topic a month about bots and GDKPs.
You are more than welcome to never visit them.
We will happily enjoy our respectful environment
