I definetly think guilds will have a kicking policy for clicking need and consent to it being like master looter.
It is a self inflicted poison at that point if people choose to stay.
I have seen guilds treat trials badly and like never plan to ever promote them and just use them for a few raids. It’s not exactly a nice time staying with that type of guild/people. Or the way they talk behind other people’s back. But this was expansions ago. So hopefully you aren’t in a guild like that. Not a very nice experience.
My point was you shouldn’t wait until you are kicked. As soon as they tell you their loot system, if it is not one you like, you should leave.
I can’t imagine those guilds last. I have never had a single experience with being abused as a trial, or abusing a trial. Again, this is within the context of CE guilds. I won’t speak to what others do.
I hope not. But that sort of stuff can leave you jaded from guilds. Or this game. I do like PL because it address loot drama and at least from what I seen in Mythic plus. It’s nice all the loot gets rewarded at the end of the keystone. So I am really hoping this stuff doesn’t touch keystone pugs.
I really hope blizzard doesn’t put this in lfr, since it’s all a random comp. You can’t really control how much people of the same class are in there. Sometimes I have seen like 12 hunters in a group >.> it isn’t fair for those people. I especially hope it doesn’t involve normal/heroic dungeons or mythics. I would like to have a chill approach to making groups, not actively avoiding all other shamans/hunters/evokers.
I would like to play with the new cool rainbow dragons in my group. Not want to kick em out
Yeah, I don’t think it should be in LFR. We have had N/G in LFR before and it was not a good scene. They are putting some new “protections” on it, but I still don’t think it will be enough to make it a viable system for LFR.
and expecting pugs to run as PL is a joke. Human nature and all. “Then just don’t join that group” also is a minimally valid excuse because we both know that is what will happen on the majority just because. Being forced to run your own group is also a pain to do right. I already said I probably won’t bother with raids if this is as bad as it looks because I have an appropriate amount of faith in humans.
With that said opening the ability to funnel gear in a ‘guild only’ run isn’t a bad decision for when your group needs to maximize things and we even see a form of it today with armor class stacking.
I just don’t see how allowing or recreating an easily abusive system in the first place is a good idea to begin with though for most of the player base. Maybe if it only functions/activates in Mythic difficulty raids or something instead?
Personal loot was the best, less stress, drama free system we ever had. Removing it is a huge mistake. I haven’t pre-purchased, but all these bad decisions and proving they aren’t listening is why I am likely to walk away from the game. And when I quit Hearthstone in 2017, I never went back or downloaded it again. Once I leave WoW, that’s it. I’m done.
And I fully expect to see you complaining in the forum when you find it is worse than the current system.
The people who were opposed to removal of master loot made excellent examples of themselves to show why so many players won’t join guilds. I especially like the one who was outed in one of those “we don’t steal trials loot” threads as being a manipulative user who never gave loot to trials, no matter how well they performed and then removed them from the guild so they could repeat the cycle with fresh trials.
We all know this community and how creative players get when it comes to loot and self-made systems. I also think it will be ML with extra steps. Clicking Need is forbidden until the RL/Loot Council decided who gets the item and then one person clicks need, the rest pass.
I still think this drastic change will be in place to reduce raid loot. The last time they’d tried this, at the start of SL, there was a massive backlash and players hated it, so they had to revert the changes. Now they’re trying it a second time, but through the backdoor.
They also reduced loot from raids in early shadowlands. Raiders have been complaining about low drop rates. They sort of created an issue by lowering raid drops in the first place.
In the end, the dumbest decision blizz made in regards to this issue was putting GL in LFR. LFR should always be PL. GL in LFR is gonna be an absolute nightmare for everyone involved.
