Please remove the reputation requirements from memory of unity

Please consider removing the rep requirement or at least making it friendly or honored. For many people and for many reasons a belt slot is not ideal for a lot of people.

Some of us didn’t start playing until week 3 and the catch up in rep grinding is so gated and difficult since you can only really do a couple dailies per day, once you’ve opened all the chests around… there isn’t much you can do at all to catch up.

Why isn’t there at least a catch up to current max level for those who started later.

The prices of base items are already so outrageous it’s prohibitive to buy even a rank 5 or 6 one to “get by with” until we get the reputation up… if you want people to spend money on tokens why do you make it harder for us.

If people can run around with the belt at max level the same day it comes out what is the harm in everyone having access to the memory at the same time? It makes no sense other than random developer arbitrary decision number 741.

The absolute horror that people who play the game are rewarded more than those who don’t play it. I cannot believe this is happening. This is literal fomo.

I’m not even complaining about having to play it more, I would if there was a way to catch up to whatever the current week’s maximum reputation is. But there isn’t. I tried rare farming but the rep is literally so sparse or low it doesn’t make any real difference.

The thing is, it’s not even a “reward” for playing more, I don’t understand why we are conditioned to believe that getting to craft the legendary in any slot for optimization is some form of reward. It should be a basic in game human right or something. You can already have it in a belt slot. Why is it so unbelievably crazy to ask for access to all the other slots at the same time.

The free belt isn’t max level though, its 265.

That was your choice, though. Choices tend to have consequences. Some of us chose to play WoW, and so we’re now nearly/have attained Revered. You chose to do something else, so you got to do that instead of having enough rep now.

That’s not entirely Blizzard’s fault, though. I’ll agree that there’s some culpability on their part with just how many mats are needed to level up the Runecarving items, but prices are ultimately set by the player market.

I wasn’t suggesting it was, just saying people can get the belt and upgrade it same day. I don’t understand why other slots of the same legendary are gated. It’s just so archaic to me.

this has always been a game that you need to play from the start to be current.

LOL this is the least grindy “grind” we’ve ever seen.

why do you feel you should be able to take weeks off then instantly be on-par with people who have been playing all along?

I agree with you here. this expansions legendaries having a crafted component is pants on head stupid.

look

the reality is - the belt you will be handed upon completing the questline is just fine for you and the content you are doing. Assuming you’re maining this shaman, you are weeks off from needing to worry about optimizing. That’s not a dig, it’s just a fact. don’t worry about using a non-perfect legendary for a few weeks. there are plenty of other gear holes to fill.

I get that, but why defend something that clearly doesn’t make any sense. I mean, I’m all caught up on my story line so I get the same belt as you, but because I can’t catch up on rep, I’m a dirty villain here. But because a catch up mechanic exists for the storyline (I.E I can do it start to finish until the current stopping point) then I’m not a villain renown wise right or when it comes to that system.

I mean, if rep catch up existed we wouldn’t be having the conversation right? It might even exist in the next expansion or it might not. The point isn’t give me things for free. But you assume just because you started playing it sooner that you’re entitled to something special. Under the current setup, I guess you are? But one developer decision could change it if they instituted rep catch up similar to valor catch up. I mean, valor catch up and honor catch up is a thing right? I don’t see people saying people who started 4 weeks late are villains for just wanting to catch up.

You would still need to put the same effort. The funny thing is people who are always on the “reward” side of the system will always preach about how great it is. I started sooner, i deserve it all! You’re a dirty villain who started 3 weeks later, shame on you, you filthy pleb, and so on and so forth.

Take mage tower for example, of course, everyone who got a weapon appearance wants it to remain gone forever, and everyone who missed out wants it to come back. But this isn’t even really the same type of argument.

But I mean like, the fact that I was deployed somewhere I couldn’t really play much at all was outside of my control due to life circumstances not choice.

People just want to be able to put the same effort you did, not everyone has 24/7 or even every single week straight to play but sometimes once every 2 or 3 weeks they have time to binge for several days. I think the point of the dialogue I’m trying to start is that some systems in the game have fair catch up mechanisms, and some do not. It should be about effort, not about missing out, in terms of things that are still currently in the game and accessible to all.

No, its the fact that you have to LOGIN DAILY. I would gladly put equal amount of time on the weekend, let’s say it takes 10 mins daily, I should be able to put 70 mins in one day on the weekend and get the same rep.

Nothing you are doing requires you to have unity day 1 it is available and this is coming from someone whose primary legendary is a belt or helm and I refuse to use the helm since I expect to (eventually) have a tier piece for it.

Also the world quests take maybe 20 minutes even before flying to do. You don’t need to do the daily quests which give cyphers.

The far bigger issue is the fact that the 291 tier pieces are super ridiculous overpriced. Over 200k on my server. I’ll just be waiting until it’s half that or less.

Blizzard knew good and well it would cost a ton of gold when they designed it.

This is a fair point. I think we had a system like this in mop? we could do all 7 days of dailies at once or spread them out.

people rushed through it, then complained there wasn’t anything to do.

but I agree that’s a better modal.

That’s exactly my point, I don’t always have that daily time available due to where I’m deployed or the schedule I have with work, but sometimes I get 4 days off every few weeks and I can binge. Why shouldn’t I be afforded the same opportunity to catch up?

Not asking for a hand out or a hand me down or anything. Just the opportunity to play the same amount of time that was required to go from A to B to C when i do have the time to play.

All they would really need to do is just start a count timer in your character database for the two daily quests, and let you repeat them until you’re at the maximum current amount (2 quests per day x however many days since patch launch).

It’s already in the game with lost souls for covenants right. You can keep turning that weekly quest in over and over until you’re caught up.

exactly guys, i’m with you guys on this boat. I’m a weekend player as well. Heck, I’d be willing to put in 2x the time on one day to catch up, if it means to give some kind of vantage to people who login daily. (Preferably tho exact equal time but blizzardo things)

The system exists right now in many ways.

Valor catch up “cap” increases weekly. You can catchup at your leisure.
Honor “cap” increases weekly. You can catchup at your leisure.

For your covenant you can do the weekly quest for returning lost souls almost unlimited at this point, at the very least it lets you turn it in over and over until you’ve caught up to where everyone else in the game is.

So the system already exists. The switch just needs flipped.

You seem like a friendly guy, though void of honor. Please allow me bequeath to you the most powerful piece of equipment we possess. Use it well.

Do you really want to argue RPG immersion in a game where I recently saw a naked orc riding around on a gigantic orange cat with glowing green eyes and the only thing the orc was wearing was pink rhinestone sunglasses.

that orc is clearly a man of class and good taste

I hit revered on Tuesday. I haven’t even killed Jailer so in a way I’m about 1000 rep behind. I’m not sure what the problem here is. Do 3 dailies and 3 or 4 world quests per day. Its like half an hour every day. Probably less now that you can fly.
