the obvious solution to too many people in an area would be to change the limits on shards but no you would rather waste people’s time doing 3 events because one is so laggy you can’t even complete any orders…
Day 2 same event different shards on the same server
First one almost as many people as day one - a little less lag but still lag.

Second shard - this character is in my bank guild.

Are all my main characters doomed because they are in an active guild because I almost always have a lot of people at that event. All my characters except for 2 are in that guild.

Thats a huge bowl of particle effects .
Do it in Warmode, there’s usually like ten people there and you can complete all your tasks in a couple minutes tops.

Isnt the quest for the event just to attend? You don’t need to do the quest.
Just do what many others do which is to just AFK while still getting credit.
Yeah and you would actually have fun doing it .
I like the task where I yell at ppl for doing a bad job

I have tried it in warmode and I get close to that as well.
It was bad timing I get on and then notice it is starting in 5 minutes, then some fool in trade chat advertises it is happening in 5 minutes and everyone has to come.
I never liked having those events in with the weekly - it is just something that creates a miserable experience almost every single week. There is no need or benefit to forcing people to do that.
no one was getting orders there was so much lag - the bar was barely moving.
I mean you’re also jumping on literally the first one of the weekly reset. It’s gonna be crowded.
I wouldn’t complain if they removed the event (they’ve done it before) but I don’t see it as a big issue.
That works until you’re tasked to go fish or taste the soup and then it’s full stop on the progress.
Correct. Though, you do need to actively participate for the weekly 5/5 order/tast loot pot from the dude standing next to the pot.
That one is kind of fun. I yell good things at people participating. If I run out of good folks, I use the negative yell on the AFK folks!

Indeed. I think the first day is going to be packed on a high pop server.
Several changes were made though to help with getting the weekly tasking done, esp the Feast.
- It is every 1.5 hours instead of every 3.
- More things now count as “doing” the activity. Picking up meat and bringing it to the pot, picking up spare fish that spawn around the camp for the pot, saying “yes chef” with the button, even if you can’t get the task done. If you get the task done too then you get 2 “completions”.
It makes it go very fast on most servers outside of the high volume times.
I may be a bit biased. I am a Soupervisor after all

This is why I like GD. Blizzard added sharding to prevent this. Players complained it made the world boring and was just to hide how few people played.
Now players want more sharding.
silly players - so they decided they would rather just stand around look at transmog than actually play or maybe they didn’t realize (if someone actually complained) they would have game stopping lag.
Turn up late and you get a shard with 3 people in it.
Or buy a better computer.
Both work.
people could still do it without it being part of the weekly - people did it last week.
I just bought a better computer - sorry zone lag that affects everyone does not get fixed with a ‘better computer’.
