My server is flooded with those work orders. But like an intelligent person I ignore things that I’m not going to craft.
It’s all fun and games until there’s enough ‘players’ posting 50g ‘commision’, no mat work orders that your /ignore list is filled to the cap on all your crafters.
(…which would happen very very quickly if this system ever goes region-wide.)
Isn’t there an addon that allows you to filter out craft orders with no mats? I don’t do any crafting really, but I’m sure I read that once.
And on topic, yeah a lot of scammers out there. I looked at filling some public orders to level up some professions and it was just all no mat low tip orders. I backed away and haven’t gone back.
Do people actually like the way professions work this expac? I absolutely detest this new system or professon trees and tiers and talents and all that. The crafting order system is a cool idea, but the profession design sucks imo.
Yes, there is – think it’s called ‘no mats no make’, but I’d much rather there be an actual solution to the problem (read: requiring all mats to post public work orders to stop the flood of worse than worthless orders) rather than just covering up the problem with addons or other features of the game.
The addon is a necessary evil at this point, public orders are unusable without this… as sometimes there are legit orders, but so many empty ones… sigh.

It’s as needed as ‘badboy’ addon for trade chat
Someone on Dalaran has posted crafting orders for all three of the Fyr’alath crafted reagents for 1k commission each with no materials provided. I never thought I’d see such an extreme ask of a handout but here we are.
What’s funny is you won’t even see the orders in public tab unless you have the requisite buff which temporarily grants the recipe.
Agree totally
I also am liking the new system. Honestly, there are only two things I would like to see with the new profession system.
- Being able to trade/craft some of but not all of the items in professions, i.e. blues.
- Require Artisan’s Mettle and Rare-Epic materials to be sent in all work orders to prevent people from ripping off the crafters
I feel like these changes are fair and not too much to ask for as well as stemming some of the problems of scammers trying to rip off crafters.
