Please remove faction restrictions

I have two friends that are somewhat new to WOW but they’re both opposite factions and I want to be able to play with them both but we can’t queue for dungeons together. I mean we can join guilds together but we can’t queue?

I hope you’re prepared to defend this disposition against tons of folks ready to lecture you about how important and intrinsic faction division is to the setting. Alternatively brainlets parroting some version of emphasizing the ‘War’ in ‘Warcraft’ as if it actually means anything.

Maybe soonish. They’re playing around with some cross faction stuff.

I think it makes sense to let the faction stuff die at this point in the game.

I know some people are still invested in Horde VS Alliance but blizz fails and keeping that going while also trying to keep both factions “good”.

It’s not about “good” or “evil”, it’s about taking a different path. WoW had previously provided such alternative paths until SL and now DF, and, honestly, feels poorer for it.

As for the OP, pick a faction with your friends and make alts. Problem solved!

Devs have talked about how they want to remove faction restrictions on queued content eventually. It’s just something that is a little complicated for them to fix, because those systems weren’t intended to ever be done with players of the opposite faction.

I’m not sure why Blizzard insist on doing that. In the beginning Horde were considered the “baddies” and a majority of players still flocked to that side.

Aren’t Lightforged Draenei going to get the Warlock class? I don’t know how far such an argument would go with that.

I’d sell an organ for that gryphon

You can party up and grab 2 other people and do dungeons/raids manually. Just use the group finder. Basically the same thing, only difference is you lose the convenience of being ported to the dungeon.

id like you to explain why thats a good idea other than you and your friends. also try and convince everyone because i can confirm if dislikes still existed and were not exploitable, you would be downvoted to hell.

I’m on board with doing away with the faction divide. It’s tired, it’s old and every time they try to make it a forefront thing it ends badly or we set the factions aside to join together and defeat the big bad. There’s no point to having faction conflict anymore.

Nah. Double down on the faction/rep/renown system.

Allow opposite faction to slowly work on a few (non-contradictory) factions ala the old Bloodsail Grind. Start off hated, then disliked, then neutral. Once high enough, certain (non lore breaking) quests and dailies open up AND the ability to read and eventually type in an opposing factions language or join opposing faction sub groups (obviously NElfs cant earn Warsong rep ever and similar restrictions still based on lore).

Dont just drop it all like we’ve all been hit with a carebear stare, but maybe do allow opposite faction to enter and trade in remote places, or heck apply for a day pass to an opposing capital.

But lets not drop it entirely. Thats what other games are for.

Does KotOR allow cross faction grouping? Is this something their playerbase asks for given how long its been out?

I’m pro factions. But I don’t mind the idea of being able to choose faction during character creation, I don’t think you should be able to change the faction for a toon after you’ve picked one tho.
At this point, and I do think it works well with lore, any race can be a part of the horde or alliance. Tho, for some races it might be extremely out of character.

My personal feelings about each topic and their points aside, I doubt it would stop one from making the argument if they cared enough.

Since it’s Alliance players who “dislike” factions, just delete the Alliance and roll all their characters over to Horde-side.

Then start on a multi-expansion campaign where we hunt down and dispose of the Alliance leadership.

Otherwise: No.

I play both factions equally. The system is out dated and should be put to rest.
