Anyone leaving wow because they are too stubborn to get an authenticator or leaving just because they can’t edit text in group finder have bigger problems in their lives than wow I imagine.
It’s hilarious how many people “quit” the game but can’t even quit the forum. These clowns aren’t going anywhere.
No one has yet said how all these accounts are being hacked and no real proof at all beyond some narrative put forward by blizzard that may not even be true. This is just a game, everyone has A LOT bigger problems if their email or phone gets hacked then worrying about some inconsequential video game gold or the account itself.

Honestly, it’s looking like you are looking for a reason to quit the game. Not being able to edit text is just gives you an excuse so you will feel justified.
The lack of cost is only to remove what some customers would consider a barrier to acquiring and using it. FWIW, casting the widest net catches the most fish indiscriminately.

I’m actually enjoying not having the group finder filled up 90% of the way with ads.
Also, OP, the game auto-fills your M+ information in the title. So your argument is invalid.

There’s 17 years of content to do. I stopped getting everything done in Wrath, and I never did any of the dungeons or raids. These days, you can run legacy dungeons and raids, enjoy their story and farm cosmetics, farm gold, do archaeology, master the fishing system and get the legendary pole, role-play, do professions, collect toys and heirlooms, upgrade your heirlooms, roll and level alts, build garrisons so you can create an army of hexweave bag makers, do the loremaster and seeker achievements, grind rep, farm rep boxes (I do voldunai rep every week!), unlock allied races, get their heritage armor, collect your favorite transmogs, kill the Sha of Anger every week, do all of Timeless Isle, all of Isle of Thunder, all of all of it. There’s Tol’barad, the Molten Front, and more. Each with their own rewards and incentives.
There’s so much to do I can’t list it all. Like I said, 17 years worth of stuff.
The current expansion is nothing, really. And that’s where 100% of the group content is concentrated.

If you don’t play with anyone why do you care if people are upset about not being able to edit group listings in the dungeon finder.

So people that don’t have an authenticator or can’t set one up?
I paid for the game and sub and now cannot experience the full game anymore.
Still trying to get all the portals but can’t now. I want ask for brez/lust/cov etc… and it’s taking ages to get an ideal group.
If this feature is permanent, the next expac should come with an authenticator or something.

they used to sell keychain authenticators… before everyone had a smart phone… Idk if they’re still available though…

BOT? I have no problem with it before( thanks to lfg filter addon. best thing ever).
now I have to go through many hurdles or pay extra money just to use it.

Authenticators are free and so is SMS Protection.
Google “free phone”, and look for Assurance Wireless. They are the ones that handle the free government phones and those definitely work with the authenticaor and SMS.
Again, what part of the game can you NOT experience.
Sure because everyone want to go through all that trouble to edit text in a group finder in a GAME, which could have fixed the ads issue with simple filter addons. LOL
