I honestly would much rather have this solution as its also one that gives me stuff in all their other titles too.
He meant that it would be locked to classic only (the CE for classic) and not transferable to other titles.
Like blizz has stated many times they wont do… Is nothing on classic will affect current retail/live timeline.
any CE that they have done has included items for all their titles. This has nothing to do with anything being transfered.
Actually, the CE including things for multiple titles is new as the first few CE’s didnt give perks to other games as WoW was not linked via battle.net until much later… I know the last few have. But the early releases of WoW did not.
The original WoW CE and TBC and Wrath were all tied to WARCRAFT ONLY rewards.
UPDATE:: IN FACT:: the first CE title to have ANY crossover rewards is MoP.
Classic CE, if implemented at all, should NOT have any type or kind of crossover reward. Because that’s detracting from classic… It goes with the same vein of “if they just come for mog’s they will leave as soon as they get it” people will buy the CE for the other title rewards and then ignore classic… It will be an artificial boost in interest and taper off… It’ll make a bit of money but LESS money in the long run if you stop to think about it.
Yes, but like you said all recent ones do, plus I would like another pretty box to add to my collection of WoW CEs, wish my strategy guides held up as well,lol.

The likelyhood of it being a “pretty box to put on your shelf” is next to nil because WoW classic is going to be digital download only. There wont be ANY hard boxes/CD’s or anything. Because those hard boxes will be with the new release content for Live timeline.
Honestly. This is why they shouldnt even think about including the CE’s into classic.

Oh no, it is not anywhere near the same thing, getting skins and stuff in SC2 and D3 did not make any difference there, if someone just wanted the pets(im assuming) and had no interest in Classic, they more than likely would not play at all.
Why? I’m assuming you have more than your assumption, though honestly, this does seem the more likely implementation, but I would not entirely rule out a physical box.

And it wouldnt be a good representation of numbers… They’d see all these classic CE’s being bought and be happy with it for a bit. Then they’re going to see most of those people didnt play or do anything…
Ys and other dev’s at blizzcon have already said “Classic is its own reward”
So thus, including rewards for OTHER games based on classic launching is just in poor taste of that statement that Blizz has doubled down hard on again and again.

Nope not once have I asked for any of that, and expecting a new CE to have the same other game rewards is not pulling something out of the nether, it is what they have done with their CE releases for the past several years, I’ll play no matter what way they go.

They won’t be looking at those to mean much, they are only worried about what people actually play and they will see that easily enough.
No it isn’t, because this doesn’t change any of that, they are talking about stuff going from one version to the other, not CE digital goodies like this.

It being a digital release that you can download with your regular WoW subscription probably rules out there being ANY sort of box that will be released/come with it.
Maybe a nostalgia box for those people who started with Vanilla? But honestly the whole “make a physical box and inventory for classic release” just seems to be something a hop skip and a jump outside a feasible realm of possibility… Even if they are a multi-billion corporation. Thats just a waste of resources.
Much less we havent even been given a more solid answer than “huh, we hadnt thought about that. I’ll ask but… dont hold your breath.” when CE’s were mentioned. And even then people are complaining its integral to the experience! when its just integral to the experience they remember not the actual game itself.
If there’s a CE that would be cool.
But if there’s not a CE I will not be lamenting it at all.
But they have not said either way though, so just like I said above, they could do a physical box as well.
Id be cool with that, not sure how many others are still left though. They do both digital and physical now, all depends on how ‘big’ they want to go.
That was in reference to the OG CEs and its pets, not new CE.
FOr some people, having their little zerg, diablo, or panda was part of their experience, keyword being ‘part’ :O)
Yah, just want to have it to play again, extra stuff would be cool but not necessary to my enjoyment.

This whole point about CE rewards in other games was just a point about how Blizzard owns its own account content and knows how to access it from any game. How this turned into the mess it is now, I don’t know.
