No one who actually roleplays uses stock in-game jokes and flirts though. It has nothing to do with roleplaying. This is much more likely aimed at people standing around waiting to pull a raid boss and they hit /silly because theyâre bored.
The RP community on both realms go out of their way to provide inclusion and even go so far as to inform people via their OOC that theyâre LGBTQ+ friendly, or a member of the community, etc.
All this is really doing is aiming to ensure someone doesnât get put off by a 1-liner from someone bored who had no control over the joke being used in the first place.
I donât really think that it is too awkward. Firstly, how do they know your characterâs orientation to begin with and secondly, assuming they do, itâs a song reference so saying it to a gay fellow isnât a big deal anyway assuming he has the mental capacity to understandâwhich presumably he wouldâthat A: it is a reference and B: it is a joke.
Heck, Iâve got a handful of gay friends that would not only find it amusing if I said something akin to that to them but theyâd likely turn the joke around on me and make it even better.
Granted, itâs not a very good joke (nor are most of the jokes in the game to be honest) and Iâm not loathe to see it go but I just wanted to use it as an example for my general thought process on the subject matter.

Iâm unsubscribing today because of these changes, it shows this game is going to continue to remove everything that is slightly fun because it could offend people who donât even play the game, i am sick of being punished for playing this game, iâve not had fun in this game for a long time, iâve been idle since 2019 and only log on to rp, i stayed subbed hoping the game would pull itâs head out of itâs bottom and pull a ARR but clearly itâs to far gone, if i see real change i may return one day, but i whole heartedly reject removing everything slightly sexual because your middle managers wouldnât keep their hands to themselves.

I am starting to think this is just a setup for Disney to buy Activison Blizzard or at the very least the Blizzard Part.

Well Disney does own Square Enix⌠and they are big company in California a place Blizzard is being sued in âŚ
I am pretty sure the recent success of FFXIV and the lawsuit both have Disney involved and once Disney gets Activation we will see a major increase in Content.
Disney does not own SE. SE is an independent Japanese company which works with Disney for kingdom hearts.
