I am severely disappointed by the removal of some of the flirts and jokes on the PTR. I understand some of them because they were Non-consensual and phobic. However, they have also removed some really empowering ones. Here is a list of a couple that bother me.
-HM Tauren Female: “Are you staring at my raaaaack?”(This one has the character owning herself against the male gaze. She’s literally pulling a bayanetta)
-Draenei Female: “Yes, they are real! And they can cut glass.”
-Dwarf Female: “I’ll have you know I can flatten steel with my thighs.”
-Male Blood Elf: “Don’t you wish your girlfriend was hot like me?”(My Male BE is sexy. Don’t tell him he isn’t.)
-Female Tauren: “I once laughed so hard I milked all over the floor”
-Female Worgen: *" “It all matches. Trust me.”
There are more, but these are some that i am really going to miss. As someone who is Bi, non-Binary, and Sex Positive, these changes come off as a rejection of the sexiness of our characters. Sex isn’t something you should hide from. For some of us, we embrace it and make it part of our lives. Don’t take this stuff away from us. We really appreciate some of it. While some of these flirts and jokes are outdated, not all of them are. Please reconsider adding back some of the sex positive voice lines you have removed.
i personally am fine with them keeping all of the emotes. im only mentioning inclusive ones that don’t punch down because i highly doubt they would reconsider those emotes. The people at blizzard are making these changes for themselves. But it feels like a rejection of sex, rather than what they said it was.
They won’t. Because these were requests from their employees. Consider the fact that there were probably crude jokes made about these lines around the office and understand that they’re going to be more concerned with their working environment now and the jokes that centered around these lines.
No. It isn’t. This is directly from their news article on their own website:
“These updates are a relatively small part of a comprehensive, company-wide effort to improve the WoW team and Blizzard as a whole, but they’re important to us as developers. In early August, we set up internal channels where the WoW team could share feedback on content that doesn’t represent who we are as a team today.”
I will resub if they add most of this stuff back. As silly as it sounds, I’m not giving my money to some game being run by a bunch of sexaphobic puritans. I didn’t harass anyone, but Blizzard is making me feel like I was named in their stupid lawsuit
