Blizzard - Please open a balanced PVP server. One where attempting to log in the dominate side puts them in a queue or special layer. I’m not asking for existing servers to have this treatment since some people want it imbalanced.
I want wPVP that is meaningful. I have one account where I’m dominating and one where I’m being dominated (population wise). Neither is fun. On the dominating side, it’s full of people who are either treating it as PvE and ‘acting’ like they are some big tough PVPer, or they are sick of not having an engaging world. On the dominated one, server morale is just depressing.
I don’t care if you allow transfers to it. Just please make a server where I can play in a dangerous-- but not hopeless-- world. I don’t even care what faction I need to roll into in order to be help balance it out.
Um, are you part of the problem then. convince other people to join the server you’re being ‘dominated’ on , problem solved. But no, you want Blizzard to make a special server just for you?
It’s not realistic to convince 500-1000 (or more) people to reroll somewhere on a single faction. If such a feat was possible, it would have happened long before now.
If you want some semblance of faction balance in world zones the only reasonable semi-reliable implementation they’re capable of is using something like sharding that tries to force faction balance in each shard. You then end up with overflow shards where a faction has too many people and the extras end up in shards with 0 members of the opposite faction. The system creates balanced zones, but some people will be left out if there’s not enough members of both factions.
You could have a mega-server with sharding and war mode, combining Classic gameplay with some modern tools to try to keep things more balanced in the PvP shards. This would probably end up killing the existing servers balance even more though as people fed up with the reality of outdated server models flee to this new server in an attempt to get a more balanced experience.
Which is a ‘you’ problem not a Blizzard problem. Blizzard has said from the beginning, and i mean 15 years ago that they do not guarantee any kind of faction balance.
The information has been in front of peoples faces for years, and yet people still whine.
The problem with people like you is you think I am trolling you when I am telling you how to solve your perceived problem yourself. You don’t need mommy Blizzard making changes to the game and to hold your hand and make you feel special. What you want for world pvp is already in place and has been happening on pve servers for a decade and a half now. Stop crying and take control over your gaming experience. Or quit.
I didn’t ask for a single server to be changed, and nothing I wrote was ‘crying’ or looking for some parental… whatever. Got me to reply though, so 6/10 I guess.
Oh, I do still play my characters on a dominated server. Outside of prime time hours I can get a little done and it can be fun depending on zone population.
My apologies for overreacting to your comments, I believe that I misunderstood your intent. However if you want some more sort of balance world pvp on better terms than what’s happening on pvp servers go pve.
I can’t reference the post since it’ll give my mains away (for whatever it’s worth), but I did try to do something similar to what you linked on my (dominate) realm’s server forum. Also tried /1 recruitment. Got a bunch of mockery and only 3 people came with. It’s why I have a dominated-faction character btw.
Stuck with through the mid-50’s now. Probably won’t be able to push to 60 until battlegrounds come out though. People on servers like that understand what I mean.
I mean, I rerolled onto one of the highest population, worst faction balanced servers, and have leveled entirely during phase 2. I still have hope of reaching level 60 (and possibly, though unlikely getting my epic mount) by BG release.
I can definitely understand that there are challenges, but I’d be quite surprised at a high success rate based on giving up, when facing difficulty.
some people are not cut out for pvp servers though. there are some that like challenge but most want to dominate and complain relentlessly when they’re actually the ones being dominated.
Roll on grobbulous. We have pretty balanced wpvp. We have roaming horde gank squads and alliance as well. As a hordie i cant tell you how many death runs iv had to do just to get into mc or ubrs etc
It’s good that you’re making it work. Maybe Fairbanks isn’t as bad as I thought if you’re getting around. Might roll there or transfer if it opens.
I’m an alliance warrior on Skeram. I don’t have stealth (or shadowmeld) so I can’t really do anything in the open world quest-wise. I get some slow leveling in the corner of a few “remote zones”. I can’t do dungeons often though because of the needed 30+ minutes of corpse hops it needs to get in anywhere.
What you do have though, is that as a warrior, you make a very good tank.
IDK what level you are, but spam running ZF to 50 or 52, then BRD XP runs to like 56 or so… is likely doable.
I know Skeram is showing slightly worse balance numbers than Fairbanks, but not by a lot, and Fairbanks has higher pop, so not sure how much better or worse either would be, effectively. It seems to me that in most circumstances, as few as 2 to 3 people can make a pretty big difference (not so much for something like clearing a path to BRM, but definitely for summoning in front of BRD).
you have to have a normal name. don’t name yourself “bootstrap” or something. if you’re polite to people you won’t get in trouble. then just don’t bother people who are rping.
