Please, no tier sets in pvp

For PvE I don’t mind, but in PvP you literally force us into talents many of us do not enjoy using. I do not like the shadowy apparition build with my shadow priest but am literally forced into those talents because of the stupid tier set. Choosing not to use the tier set means your damage is less than a disc priest.

But if you do add tier sets, make sure it is directed at a variety of talents. At least offer us another playstyle.

Tier sets coming back were a mistake. Sadly, Blizzard only listens to the dumbest, loudest people alive.

I love tier sets. But I’d love for us to be able tailor them with our talent tree. For eg…maybe a disc priest wants to tailor craft their tier set for a penance build.
Don’t get caught up in the “PvP shouldnt have loot” bs …. It’s super easy to gear up in PvP conquest and just a few tweaks! This will ensure we don’t have systems and hidden math but straight up math around whatever gear/spec/talent free you built. And nothing more

Yea, everyone would love that.

Because the current iteration is horrible. And I’m pretty sure they will double down on it in TWW because it’s been in development a long time.

I tried playing with the tier set bonuses using the “proper build.” And then tried playing without the tier set using an alternative “on paper” playstyle with mindbender that should work. It was no comparison.

The tier set build had about a +20k dps advantage.

I tried both in random BGs.

Without the tier set I averaged about 15 million damage. With the tier set I was well over 30 million damage. It was the same thing with enhancement shaman and primordial wave. Tier sets should not lock you into talents. It defeats the whole purpose of talent choices.

When my chosen spec has a bad tier set for PvP, I’m all for this. When my chosen spec has a great tier set for PvP, not so much. Getting rid of tier in PvP might be good if they are going to try to balance things though.

Tier (special) gear more like Azerite gear, or Heart of Azeroth I liked, but would likely be even more a tuning nightmare. At least with fixed tier bonuses the total package that specs can be is a bit more easy to balance. I do like the brain storming going on here.

Well I mean this is devs just designing the entire game aorund m+ to generate token sales. That’s all ion has designed this game for.
So we get cookie cutter tier sets and reskinned armor. No thought or effort gets out into PvP and it will never get any until we get a new leader of wow

Not so much now, but when a literal booster was the president of Blizzard the entire game was designed around boosting.

I would like to just be able to pick which bonuses I want. Perhaps as others have mentioned, via the crafting system. I’m doing well this season, with the build that I tried to play last season and did terrible with. But I really liked some of the bonuses from previous tier sets for other talent builds.

I agree having tier sets in PvP forces you into builds, but the solution is not to stop using them in pvp, it’s to give people a choice so they can play the builds they like. Which would also make games more dynamic and less predictable.
