I was really looking forward to being able to do Winter Veil RP in Stormwind City, letting my character wear her ugly sweater etc. I even had my IRL schedule in such a way that I could stay up later than midnight for the first time in months???
The fact that this is still on and I don’t know if it’ll go away in time for the holidays is so disappointing.

i mean to be fair to them: it’s also around the holidays, there’s a world first event happening, they’re tuning pve content in real time and fixing bugs from launch. i don’t think it’s that they don’t care – they DID turn off sharding prior to launch so they know it’s a thing rpers dislike

Stop sharding. Unshard us on retail. I want to RP with my friends without having to force them into a party.
Main cities should never be sharded. Let us see a living city life.
Go further and give us a no shard server we can make characters on.
For those of us who like big crowds and dont care about mob spawn rates or queues.

Maybe, but to be fair this thread is a month old.
It was renewed after the problem came back; this thread was originally made during the Dragonflight pre-patch, then Blizzard turned it off, and finally after the expansion launched the sharding was turned back on and we’ve all been frowning ever since.
I am further begging Blizzard employees to unshard Stormwind for God’s sakes. We’re over three weeks into the expansion. It physically pains me to see that the city is actually full of players with the TRP scan, but it doesn’t matter because we can’t see each other. It’s empty and depressing and makes me very very sad. 
Would really appreciate some communication about this. A timeline, or some population threshold they’re waiting for to turn it off, or something. When there’s no communication we’re kinda left wondering if it is even intentional or if the people controlling these settings on the servers need to be reminded or what
Would also like at least some communication on when or if the sharding will be removed.
Nearly a month now since the expansion came out - Stormwind and Orgrimmar just isn’t that busy anymore.
Let’s not let the RP community die, yeah?

This game is supposed to be about social. It’s one of the “Ms” in MMO. We’d like to be able to play with people without having to treat this game as yet another cheap “lobby” game.
