well sorry but blizzard didn’t agree with you because they increased the drop chance.
thank you for your input, though

Apparently they do, since it’s still not a guarantee drop.
Try to keep up.
a guaranteed drop is not the same thing as a non-rare drop.
i got the mount the same day of the hotfix, so looks like they made the drop common enough to no longer be classified as a rare drop - i think you need to take your own advice.
I agree. I would so much rather RNG than a grind.
I got the carpet but the Headless Horseman Mount still eludes me after Years and Years, since it started doing it daily lol.
Nope just keep it in game and don’t change ever.
The game has merit based system, arena, top end raiding all that, go chase your rewards and superiority in those.
Rare drop however is never a merit based game in the first place, stop applying “I grind 1000 times so I deserve it” logic to it, imagine you loss more than everyone else and demand a top prize from a casino.
The out come is never a guarantee. Curb your greed and expectation.
Seldom got anyone remembers whatever that strider mount from that vendor, not to mention using it, but everyone knows about the big love rocket.
I think its fine, and it dosent mean that everyone will have everything thats not how life works
Well I got my noble garden carpet mount, so I’m happy!
Also blizzard changed the drop rate to be a higher chance.
Thanks for your input though!
They disagree on the feedback that “RNG is the problem”, they agreed and implemented a fix for “the drop rate was too low”, and “It shouldn’t be as advantageous as it was to run it with 60 characters every day”.
It’s about actual design.
Looking at it from a different perspective, the design’s been stunningly successful for many years now. The existence of RNG mounts gets more people to queue for the boss, year after year, thus keeping queue times down.
And this is opinion of yours because it includes (and in fact, depends on) your judgement of which perspectives you can analyze this from are valid.
Old Republic
Does not really have holiday bosses the same way wow does, thus making the design unnecessary. Other players choosing to not participate in Life Day or Feast of Prosperity does not impact your ability to participate in Life Day or Feast of Prosperity.
They disagree on the feedback that “RNG is the problem”
They don’t. I’m not going to find the quotes. Others have linked it before.

People complaining for years, not doing the events, etc. is “success?” LOL okay.
And this is opinion of yours
I play different MMOs who don’t use RNG as the basis for short term events. It’s more successful, more people engage, there’s more positive experience.
Does not really have holiday bosses
And the bosses they do have give currency to buy from vendors. It’s also only one of many MMO examples. And other MMOs have learned this, as well. RNG drops for short term events is bad design. Period. I won’t repeat this any more.

RNG is “effective” in the way that Blizzard cares about most: it drums up engagement without much effort on their part, but you’ll never hear anyone talk about WoW when discussing MMOs with fun, interesting, and rewarding holiday events.
It’s a very cynical approach to game design, honestly. If I go to a holiday event in a game like GW2 or FFXIV, people are generally quite positive and eager to collect rewards, play the mini-games, do the quests, etc. In WoW there are a lot of people, sure, but almost everyone is miserable. This game has a really negative atmosphere because the developers continue to create events that are primarily designed to keep numbers up, not to actually provide players with a fun event.

But does it scare more people off the even than it brings in who otherwise wouldn’t? Given how short the queue times are for HH and chemical co, I’m going to suggest that the answer is no.

These other MMOs have over 7M active, paying players?
And the bosses they do have give currency to buy from vendors.
And, last I checked, those mounts/pets weren’t account wide, so you had to re-farm them on every character you wanted them on. Is that really a better system when taken as a whole?

Exactly. This is the main issue. And I think they need to change up their philosophy. They had a step in the right direction with Love is in the Air. They put new stuff on the vendor for high costs— and people engaged happily with the content. There were people doing dailies all the time, even on my low pop realm, right up to the end of the two weeks. That’s unheard of for most WoW holidays. And many I’ve spoken with still have more to buy next year, too.
I don’t know how they managed to overlook that fact and downgrade themselves with Noblegarden.

They tend to shoot themselves in the foot and then genuinely wonder how they’ve got a hole in it. Why? No idea. lol
