just make all the rewards from holidays come from grinding the holiday currency.
having 1% or lower drop rates from a boss that only is active 7-14 days per year makes me want to just not engage with the holiday.

Rare drop mounts should have more than one way to be acquired, imo. If the boss is a low drop chance is going to be low, let us get the mount another way, like farming currency.

How many 1% holiday mounts are there? Compared to around 900-ish other mounts? Don’t stress over a few mounts, at least rare drops are keeping people engaged in those events.

I wouldn’t engage with them if they dropped no mounts - they would have to put something on them that I am interested in and there is very little else

Honestly my main issue is that they made it so inconvenient. It isn’t a huge deal, but having to loot an item, turn in a quest, then open a separate item in your inventory to get your loot is pretty annoying when you’re doing it on 10 or 20 alts, especially because of the lag.

Holiday events are the cycle of life, like salmon swimming upstream, against the current to their home streams at birth to spawn. Almost 90% return to their home streams.
I’m only 30% certain this applies for collectors during holiday events.

Picking up eggs is relaxing.
I finished the event early, because I didn’t need to pick up anymore eggs. I would rather grind the currency then RNG for new items.
Love is in The Air event was a good job of an update, devs stumbled on Noblegarden.

That’s the actual problem here. Some events are going on two decades without a significant update.
When more and more people finish getting these mounts, pets, and transmogs, they’re not going to participate until there’s something new, and the cycle restarts.
Maybe the answer would be to make new items have a 1% drop chance from the boss, or whatever it is, but the next year put it on the holiday vendor when new things are added to the loot table.

What exactly is challenging about killing something in five seconds then turning in a quest? 
Feedback isn’t crying. RNG for holidays and short term events is bad design. Go play other games. Learn how holidays are done better.
