Please never do Early Access again

Sure it doesnt matter to me. Im sure the people who start on Tuesday will be just fine and hopefully they get to also avoid a queue with the early rush handled.

They should double the days and I’d gladly pay twice as much, this expansion is awesome!

its the 1 expansion im going to miss “launch” day .

The launch is the best moment of the an expansion discovering the zones ,the lore , the dungeons , pets , mounts, gear , new talents/skills , treasures , hidden things .

IT FEELS BAD not being there with everyone.

If wow were f2p or just released i could understand its a new game or its free , but its an expansion of a 20 years old game.

never seen anything like that before, in others mmorpgs, if u preorder u get early access.

im happy with it this was my absolute best launch experience no lag no DCs hit 80 after 8 hours

I can see the full picture. Early access has mitigated the usual server congestion and long queues that typically mar launch experiences. This enhancement to player experience reduces the frustration that has previously driven players away. Even without direct benefit, I’d advocate for such measures—especially for long-term subscribers—as they address persistent server issues.

As for the idea that this trend will degrade both the game and the industry over time, that’s a matter of perspective. Monetization strategies are polarizing; some accept them, while others do not. In a free market, consumer behavior dictates corporate actions. If a significant number of players are opposed, the company will likely adjust its approach.

Personally, I remain unconcerned. I have the means to invest in my hobbies, and while not everyone shares this privilege, it’s important to recognize that WoW and its associated purchases are discretionary, not necessities. Even if thousands of items were added to the cash shop, your gameplay experience remains unaffected unless you choose to engage with those purchases.

Frankly, your argument comes across like a child who, having dropped their ice cream, now insists that everyone else’s cones should be thrown away as well.

Nah, I want them to keep doing this again.

You’re right, it does split the playerbase, and that’s a good thing for everyone. Early access players get a smooth-ish, launch experience because everyone and their mother isn’t lagging everything to hell trying to cram into the same spaces, and non-early access players also get a smooth-ish launch because if there are any small bugs exposed during early access launch, they get fixed before the rest of the playerbase jumps in.

LFR and PvP are minor issues.

They literally would not care one bit if people without EA didn’t log in until Monday. They would still get that sub money and they’re still retaining those players.

Early access is perhaps good business, but bad P.R.

But they won’t be fixed, and watch, Midnight will have 7 day early access for the Epic edition, 3 day early access with the Heroic edition, and Blizz will just say, if you want to be safe and not risk content not working, buy one of the versions with early access, that way you will have the ability to level and have content to do.

Which will obviously encourage everyone to buy the most expensive version, because even with Heroic edition you would still risk 4 days of things breaking and not having anything to do except wait.

I whole heartedly agree with the OP. This is the stupidest thing blizzard has ever done and it’s things like this which is why I never pre-order games or buy “upgraded” versions. Also, to add to what he said, it has also ruined the launch day hype for me.

I say widen the gap… I always say that…:sunglasses:

A lot of blizzard simps here.

Yeah, no. I think the only people that are upset by this are the ones not playing. Early access means nothing in the scheme of things, unless you’re trying for gold or world firsts. In which case, who cares?

This hasn’t been a problem since blizzard introduced layering, you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Do you have reading comprehension issues? He wrote that he has it and he’s upset about it.

Please do it every expac. The launch was so smooth. I don’t have a single hiccup. Just logged right in and played. No queue. No disconnects. No massive group of players to battle. It was amazing. Please do this for every Xpac going forward. I loved it.

So I should drive my fancy car around you now. Because it might make you feel bad? Or wear my expensive sneakers around, because god forbid I make you feel bad.

I think it’s a stupid argument to not do this because it makes poor people feel bad. I can afford the extra $40 dollars for the epic edition, but I refuse to buy it on principle, being that it’s just a scam to get you to pay more for the game while not offering anything of any actual value. Why early access is stupid is that it ruins the launch hype and the experience start a new expansion with all your friends and guildies. This early access cash grab ruins that and it’s bad for the game overall.

Earlier I had considered that as something I’d like to see actually, but after thinking it over I came to the conclusion that making Early Access any longer than it already is would cause too many issues with the Season 1 schedule.
