You forgot the transmog …and the 1 Pet turns into getting 3 more pets too…sure they are copies but they add 3 count to how many you have now…
Personally I didn’t know we were getting early access with the Epic ver of TWW…I was just in it for the Mount…1 Pet that tuned into 3 more pets…the toy…the 1,000 extra Trading Post Tenders…the 30 days of free sub …didn’t care about Beta I don’t do Beta anymore the MoP Beta ruined my first day into MoP when it went live …so no more Beta’s for me…
it’s now the new norm, this all turned out better than they expected.
This post hits different when you have already made 500k gold and are level 80.

That’s a false dichotomy, and I’m not the OP, but yes. I would, wholeheartedly and unironically, rather they raise the price of the base game than repeat this exploitative early access business model.

Or do what other games do, anyone who pre-orders gets early access regardless of version, and the versions go back to just the usual cosmetic goodies plus game time for epic.

I could not care less about it. I’m off tomorrow just by random chance, so that’ll be my day to take it all in. I might have squeezed in an hour or two today or yesterday but imo it wasn’t worth 25 bucks just to get a couple hours ahead. I worked through the weekend, granted, but I know enough about my own tendencies to know that giving some people three extra days won’t make a difference as soon as I decide to take three days sabbatical, which will guaranteed happen as I no longer have the luxury of a no-life.
Unless you play every waking hour of every single day you don’t need to worry about this. And if you meet those criteria and are the person who would worry about this, just stop, you’ll thank yourself later in life.

Yeah me too but can’t now due too up coming rent increase where I live…going to have go back to pinch pennies a bit more again …

I live and work in a bubble of STEM people and had no idea the general population struggled so much with these concepts. It’s simultaneously degrading my faith in humanity and making it clear why everything else in the world is going the direction it is.

It’s fine for other games like Diablo 4 since they’re mostly singleplayer and no one really gets ahead of anyone else. (Anyone who gets ahead in that game would be ahead regardless, look at PoE each season)
But not fine in a game with an active economy. Maybe if it was 1 day or something but 5 days was way too long, especially with the changes they made that just screwed over all the latecomers. Leveling took longer and all the sell prices dropped dramatically by time normal players got to play.
The only argument where it didn’t matter was gearing up to 571, most people are already raidlogged until the 10th since a week ago.
I hope they do it again. I enjoyed my early access time. as soon as early access was over and all teh normies joined, the lag ensued, as did the AH lag from the TSM bots etc. so i enjoyed EA time.

About the only issue I had was with the sheer SIZE of the Collector’s Edition this year… I mean I went to my EB Games to pick it up and they had to bring it out on a damn trolley! I literally stopped and asked them to open the box, thinking that they made a mistake and gave me at least 6 copies of the CE, but in the end, it turned out to be just my copy…
I am sure they will do it again, game developers love money to much to never go back on that idea ever again.
Your life situation does not and should not effect how I enjoy my video game, flat out and bar none. This game is an MMO, we as plauers get to decide how, when, and who we give our money to. I see the benefits on both sides, but since it didn’t affect me negatively literally at all, I could not care less. If I gave a crap about everyone else’s problems i’d have to be a politician… oh wait, they don’t care either. Never mind. Guess i’m back to dking whatever I want with my wallet
So the life that you chose to live should dictate and change how, when, and why I enjoy my video game? Come on now. If you want that to be true then I have every right to tell you how to play your game as well and the cycle continues. Does it suck for you? It sure does. But you chose your path, Blizzard should not cater to you, nor me. I pay them for a service and when it goes live, I play it. If I can’t, I can’t. If I can, then I do.
This idea where if you pay a sub you HAVE to be consumed by the game is insanely toxic and unhealthy, if $15 breaks your bank, you should not be on WoW. If it doesn’t, then enjoy your game to the best of YOUR ability. They already made it a joke in progression and the general concept of difficulty in this game has flown out the window to account for the players that have less total time to play. I can’t change their rules, just like you can’t either. Enjoy your game. If you can’t, WoW isn’t for you and if you insist on paying and playing then you know what you are in for
