Please nerf Sunwell step-by-step

Sunwell nerf is necessary. During Phase 2 PVE population dropped from 381k (09-22-2021) to 295k (12-08-2021). And they never come back. According to Warcraftlogs, now we have 21k guilds killed 14/14 BT / Hyjal but only 2.3k guilds killed the first Sunwell boss Kalecgos. We don’t want the players leave Classic again.

Some players disagree about the Sunwell nerf because they enjoy the progress. So Blizzard please consider nerfing Sunwell step-by-step. So most players will be happy and stay in Classic. For example, nerf Kalecgos, Brutallus and Felmyst two weeks from now. Then two weeks later nerf Eredar Twins and M’uru. And two weeks later nerf Kil’jaeden. So all players have 6 weeks to progress pre-nerf version.

Or introducing a regional buff like ICC. Increase HP/damage/healing 5% every week until 30% buff. Players who want the challenge can cancel the buff anytime.

Edit: I don’t mean Sunwell need to nerf now. Blizzard already mentioned Parse 5 will have pre-nerf and nerf versions. I just want to discuss nerf step-by-step will be batter than nerf all bosses at the same time.

Players on forums are more progressive than average players in the game. Most players agreed nerf don’t have time to agree nerf on forums. So that is the reason why most people on forum disagree nerf. That’s a selection bias and hope Blizzard understands it. I already killed all Sunwell bosses in 2008. But that time I was a student I had 20 hours to play every week. Now I only have 4 hours every week. That’s why many players like me choose Classic not Retail. I don’t ask nerf for now and for myself. Just voice for this kind of players before they quit.

They should’ve just released it nerfed, but the sweatlords (who cleared it on PTR already) want to make themselves seem ‘prestigious’ by clearing it prenerf.

Hopefully we get just a month or so of pre-nerf before we get nerfed version and then pre-patch.

No they shouldnt have. Bt and hyjal were so incredibly boring that I dont think I could have handled another tier of that crap. SSC and TK post nerf were also incredibly boring. Sunwell so far has been so much fun actually getting to do mechanics that I actually look forward to raiding now. My guild has only killed one boss but I dont care because im actively having fun because of Sunwell. If they nerf it after 2 weeks I probably will just quit because I can’t go back to that piss we had before.

If you like the challenge, you should kill the first three bosses in 2-3 weeks. So it won’t affect you. For most players, they can still killed 7/10 or 8/10 SSC & TK in the first two weeks. But Sunwell is very different, most players are just playing with trash. That will be very frustrating. Players who agree nerf at a early time won’t come to agree nerf here. They just leave the game. Comparing all bosses nerf after 1-2 month. A step-by-step nerf seems better.

If players can’t handle a harder raid then why not make it so the boss dies from 1 hit from every raider. I don’t want an amusment park, I want a raid where people have to actually think.

KT and Vashj (moreso Vashj) made you think about what you should be doing, made you to be more spacially aware and now in its nerfed state is just so easy that it’s a joke.

The bosses aren’t hard, you just need coordination and the simple thing called personal responsibility. Play the bosses a few times to get a feel for the mechanics then healers adjust and then the boss goes down, simple as that.

First, terrible use of statistics. Even a political ad has more reasonable numbers that what you’re trying to spin here.

Second, why is there a vocal minority so intent on ruining classic and turning it into retail? You already have everything you are asking for in the main game that gets updated all the time and the lion share of resources. What’s the point of coming here and demanding this one and only way be enforced here as well?

Third, if LK is going to be released by Aug/Sept then why nerf Sunwell at all? There are plenty of ways to gear up for LK that don’t involve tier 6.5 gear, so why do you need the final raid to be easily accessible? There will be a gear reset once people hit 80, its not like they just can’t do the next raid because they didn’t do sunwell.

I don’t want Sunwell nerf now. But at a appropriate later time. If most players cannot enjoy the new content, some guilds will disband and some realms be dead. Like what happened in Phase 2.

Players on the forum cannot represent most players in the game. That is a selection bias. Most players on the forum disagree nerf and they say they will leave if it is not challenging. But in fact Phase 2 is hard and PVE population decreased 100k. Phase 3&4 are “boring” but PVE population increased 10k.

One of the reason why WoW retail is not popular now as it was is that Blizzard pay too much attention on these “elite” players. In the real game it is a different story comparing to the forum.

There’s Karazhan, Magtheridon, Gruuls lair, Serpentshrine caverns, Tempest keep, Mount Hyjal, Black temple, and Zul’aman to choose from. Why does the only hard raid cause these people to quit?

You can compare the numbers on WarcraftLog. For the same guild it can’t be upload log only for HS & BT but not for Sunwell. The only reason is 90% players even cannot even kill the first boss.

90% of the players can’t coordinate then, Kalecgos isn’t a hard boss.

I don’t know why 100k players quit during phase 2. They still have Karazhan, Magtheridon, Gruuls lair and 8/10 SSC & TK to choose. You’d better ask them not me. I am still progressing Sunwell.

I don’t know why boring HS & BT attracting more players. In phase 2 everyone on the forums disagree the nerf but the population was dropping every week before nerf.

I don’t understand. Maybe you can tell me the reason.

Wait till next Tuesday/Wednesday and the numbers will be far higher; Sunwell released on a Thursday. My guild isn’t amazing and we killed the first three bosses in under 10 wipes each with zero PTR experience.

It’s so easy though, the mechanics are so basic. Considering 10+ guilds cleared it in like the first hour I think most people will be able to manage a clear in the first week or 2 of progression.

Anyway, no nerfs needed. It’s been out for 1 day.

Let’s make the bosses get 10% weaker for each wipe, so after 10 wipes you just walk up to it and smack it with your staff to get a bag of loot.

Not really. What dropped is guilds disbanding but the players might have still played, just not raided.
