Please nerf LFR N'Zoth (again)

Personally I miss the days of WOTLK where you could farm badges to buy fairly good gear. This expansion was extremely unforgiving with avenues to get gear, particularly if you hate grinds. And Blizz recognizes this which is why they’ve made so many changes for Shadowlands. This is widely accepted to have been the 2nd worst expansion after Warlords of Draenor and this had easily twice as much content.

Your Desolate Host analogy is not accurate. I did Desolate Host on LFR when it was current. Just because you can run in there now and solo it without getting destroyed doesn’t mean it was easy back then. You had to obey the mechanics and have enough dps to get the Soul Engine to spit out the Host AND kill Soul Queen. I’ve been playing for 15 years lol. Don’t try to kid me.

Spit out what Host? It didn’t exist.

Oh right, you just had to kill them both on LFR while deal with adds and AOE damage. Hmm… yeah I was doing a lot of Normal then and didn’t find it hard either lol. Come to think of it I don’t know why they didn’t have the Host in that fight. All it is is basically something that has to be tanked with some extra HP. That expansion was weird.

15 years…

slow clap

15 whole years…

Oh please, you’re playing WoW Classic, which on top of being cancerous, particularly on a pvp realm, was the most poorly designed, incoherent garbage to ever be produced. I have no idea why people have nostalgia for it. My younger brother plays a mage and literally all he does is spam frost bolt. How exciting. And the content? Everyone knows how to do it! The only thing keeping people from being able to one shot every boss is the fact that the one thing Classic had going for it was every fight was a gear check - you either had the requisite gear from the previous tier or you didn’t, which is why getting the raids on farm was so important. And then you had the absolutely gross fact that gear from previous tiers would be BiS through several FOLLOWING tiers. Ew. And then you choose to play a hunter. Feign Death to get out of mistakes. Pets to do everything for you. Take gear from literally everyone because toxic min maxing says it’s a .1% dps increase. But sure, go on to claim that a 15 year veteran of WoW isn’t an authority on the game.

Whew. passes snickers

You aren’t an authority and I’m not going to treat you like one. You and I play an MMORPG where Orcs came from space, we slay dragons, gods and monstrosities from the void, we have a Green Jesus and apparently have an undead waifu that everyone worships because she’s “hot”. To me, you have just as much authority as the last dropping I left in my toilet.

And my pet takes my bow and shoots people for me!??! Holy smokes! Which phase does that happen?!?!

Do you even play retail? If not, why do you even have an opinion on LFR? Just curious.

finally a challenge worthy of prenerf cthun and m’uru

C’thun was nerfed because it was bugged and literally unkilled… so not really a nerf so much as a “hotfix”. And M’uru was just difficult (nothing wrong with that).

Sapphiron in Naxxramus was also bugged to the point of being “almost” unkillable but a handful of VERY dedicated and skilled guilds were able to down him before he was “fixed” (the definition of that word being flexible). No one on my original server of Nathrezim (the worst server in NA coincidentally - and a pvp server of course) ever killed Kel’thuzad or completed Atiesh.

LFR Durumu and Nazgrim were way harder

I had to skip almost all the LFR Cataclysm and Panderia content because of the incessant numbers of afkers and people using bots to appear to be active. Back in those days you couldn’t get people to vote to kick anyone.

Currently? No. I played up till the end of Uldir and had my fill of the expansion. I have an opinion on it since I’ve seen how it has worked over the years since its release in MoP. Players should be encouraged to play, learn and improve if they want to do raid content. It doesn’t have to be egregious but you should at least have to try.

I dont think its that bad, granted I just got back from a year+ long break and went fresh into it but all the mechanics are pretty simple, especially since theres dungeon journal these days that tell you everything and the visual queues are more apparent then ever. Only issue I had was that people weren’t using their neck to purge themselves which is basic “hey dont let this bar run out” stuff.

I don’t disagree. But the problem lies in the fact that Blizz has taken to wrapping up huge parts of the game’s story in the raids and went so far as to put a quest at the end of this expansion (to kill N’Zoth) that not only completely the story/fantasy of your character being the savior of Azeroth who destroys N’Zoth, but then goes on to give you ANOTHER quest locked behind that one that essentially ends the expansion. It’s a kick in the nuts for people to buy the expansion and then spend a year playing it and grinding to get blocked at the very end because of some tuning issues on a mechanically complex fight that Blizz knew was always going to be an issue for LFR.

The thing about the dungeon journal is that it is usually very helpful… but on N’Zoth you REALLY need to go watch a YouTube video and I had someone come right out and call me an ethnic slur in one of my LFR runs for asking that people go watch a video before we start making serious pulls (we had agreed to intentionally build up stacks of determination). Like, the number of people you run into in WoW with the attitude of “don’t tell me how to play the game” like there isn’t literally a right and wrong way to do things is mind blowing.

TBF that’s heroic lol

And it speaks VOLUMES in a game with “flex raiding” that a finale boss to an expansion basically has to be done as 10 man only.

idk about that, I don’t think I’m the epitome of intelligence or anything and I was able to figure it out as I went along. Luckily WoW mechanics tend to follow certain trends that players can easily pick up on, especially since the boss right before N’zoth shows players the sanity mechanic.

But yea I do agree that people can be rather nasty. I tried FF14 while I was away and I gotta say its almost unreal the night and day differences with the playerbase and how patient people are… but then again it might be a self fulfilling prophecy for them where they are aware of the stigma and want to keep it.
