Map is advantageous for alliance if they push offensively. Map is advantageous for horde if they are initially defensive and prevent the initial zerg.
Nothing has changed with the premade prevention when it comes to win strategies. Premades were winning quite effectively against horde with their zerg strat until horde began making changes in their tactics.
As gear scales you will see alliance begin to win more because the maps shifts more toward pve race. They will go back to avoiding pvp engagements and not need a single tower or GY because it will be a deathball to drek and kill.
Give an example of the advantage for alliance please. Premade Pug win 50% of AV. If they wipe at IBGY its game over. Premade Marshals are a different beast.
Does anyone else find it ridiculous that the iteration of AV that they have given classic, is the iteration that was only active for about 3 months before vanilla ended?
Wouldnāt something like 1.5 AV be more appropriate for the purpose of classic? And if they were set on adding this version, they could have done it in one of the later phases?

to be fair moving the cave would help but not really solve the other big issue. Our SH GY is a choke point where horde can fight on flag and keep us bottled up. Our Towers are so far away they are no help at all in defending SH GY. IB GY allows horde to move out and around to attack on multiple fronts while also getting support from 2 towers archers if alliance moves too far away from the flag.
This will only happen if horde queues go down. Stopping a non-premade rush is really easy.

it does not mean that i would not very much rather see them hand build a 1.05 type AV for Classic like they did for Retail.

Almost, because the NPCs in it are not tuned to compete with 1.12 characters with 1.12 gear and abilities, so they would get pummeled a bit on the easy side.

Just sit in 5 foot wide choke point and wipe the horde when we mongo in to kill the witch in the stone hut.
