Please mesh XP on and XP off together again

Finally someone to have an actual debate with, me and Frokken were just going in circles lol.

Well what do you mean by “the community”? I myself was referring to the majority of the game, ie: people 100-120 playing the current expansion.

Obviously what you did bugged somebody, but I doubt any of them are the people milling about behind me in Dazar’alor.

Unless you’re implying something can do more harm than good.

By community I mean what the term means as a whole. The majority of the playerbase of this game. For many people endgame content is the focus of the game. Therefore leveling content is deemed as unimportant. Incidentally that also applies to low level battlegrounds.

My question is why was it necessary to split the brackets when the amount of people effected negatively was small in terms of the population playing the game.

Well a twink is a “kept boy”. Imagine a young trophy wife but a guy, spoiled by his boyfriend.

Ingame twinks are kind of “kept boys” in a sense. Young (in level), spoiled (with items), well taken care of (optimized) and just asked to put out (PVP) when wanted.

So only twinks can counter twinks, but levelers can compete if they don’t have missing slots.

Also, you guys need to chill with this “increased queue time” BS. My queue times for 100-109 were three minutes for almost the entire day. Zandalari are far more popular than fat humans. It’s not that there’s less people, there’s just substantially more Horde.

Lets really break this down to its core elements. In rpgs character strength is determined by two means.

  1. The overall class/spec strength and its toolkit
  2. Gear contributing to the effectiveness of above

Would you agree that these are core tenets of rpgs?

It is hard to ignore the indications, various sources.

Leveling thru bgs is the worst leveling path to take. I know a lot of altaholics and when I see them leveling up a new toon they barely if ever do bgs, their goal is to reach max level asap so they map out their questing path and spam dungeons. Even I when I level a new toon, unless I plan to twink, I will mostly avoid leveling bgs because the exp in it is minimal, I can do a dungeon and get twice as much exp. If you’re actually leveling 100% thru bgs you’re doing it very wrong.

So I don’t think there are actually a lot of “levelers” that go into a bg and have their leveling experience ruined by twinks. If you’re a leveler but not a new player then you should know going into a bg with bad or missing gear that you might have a hard time vs a player who is decked out with the right gear and chants.

Obviously it bugged some people, but I highly doubt it’s anyone I see milling about Dazar’alor at this moment.

Some patches and hotfixes only do things for something that barely happens to anyone.

You don’t lock your exp in an RPG and chill at the mid-point forever.

I did not state that only twinks can counter twinks. I stated that people with missing slots or gear that is inappropriate to their class should and will get stomped. I mentioned my inability to queue at all nothing indicating times for 100+.

It was so much fun though. Twinks, no twinks, I enjoyed it all :joy: 110 on my Druid strictly through BGs

But you were not there for XP Juga, you were there for PVP.

For twinks the thought of getting endgame to just keep on chasing the carrot on a stick gearing treadmill is bad. I only want to gear once and be bis forever.

True that.

Try Guild Wars 2.

BC changed that, and others that followed.

We are getting off track, the subject is not whether 120 pvp is the only form of pvp that exists. As evident WoW has bgs starting at level 10. In what way is it a less valid form of pvp then endgame?

Leveling sucks in this game. And I don’t mean PVP either. They even admitted it in the Q&A recently.

I’m sure most everyone levelling just wants to get it over with above all other things. People in BG’s are prolly just annoyed with quests for “kill 10 birds” and “loot 4 eggs from those birds too”, followed by the grand finale quest in the chain “kill the bigger bird and return with a feather”.

Well twinking started in older mmos, the reason they called them twinks is cuz first they made people salty, and back in the late 90s-00s calling something “gay” or “that’s gay” was kinda popular insult.

2nd reason is cuz a twink likes to put on frivolous, stylish clothing kinda like how a twink in game wears Stylish(or op) gear.

So I guess some guy that got 1 shotted by a bis character got mad and called him a twink and people just rolled with it.
