Please make the Legion Mage tower druid forms obtainable again

The motivation would be if they also saw new things on the horizon and strove for them. The problem isn’t limited time rewards, it’s the stagnation of not having something new to go after in front of you that makes you look back.

That said, I’d be good with unlocking the older forms. I’d just prefer Blizzard build some new options instead. I’d much rather see new skeletons and skins for druids.

A man-shark druid tank, a feral raptor, a diamond form balance druid… if just some of the creativity we see in imagining new weapons, armor, mounts, and hunter pets each expansion were invested in druids appearances, I think that would be way more motivating than dusting off old rewards.

But where is the line drawn? Didn’t play Druid much when MoP was a thing, so I don’t don’t have the Challenge Mog, and the next Exp at the time the Weap Mogs didn’t interest me. What about Glad mounts?

Point is all these things were listed as Limited, and as such should be gone. I am kicking my butt for not going for what I am missing now back then, but oh well. Doesn’t mean “New” Variances shouldn’t come into play. So Push Blizz to make new things.

I would prefer to look forward, than look back. But I don’t think the way to accomplish that is to create walls. Especially for arbitrary or punitive reasons. I mean seriously, you can’t do it now “because we said so?”

There are achievements, titles, transmogs, and others that I can go back and do… but I don’t. Not because I don’t want them, but because I am more interested in the new ones in front of me now. That’s really how it should work. I would much prefer (and I’m sure most people would prefer) new forms than rehashes are reskins of old ones.

The problem with the druid forms is there is nothing on the horizon to strive towards. And the shape and appearance of your character… it’s pretty fundamental. It’s only natural those folks who see a polar bear tank or sparkly cat fighting next to them wonder why that door is closed to them. And yea “because we said so” isn’t a good enough reason (imho).

Like I said where do you draw the line.

Most of the people that have the Mage Tower skins got them after they had enough gear to trivialize the encounter. So yeah, the idea these are “prestige” skins was pretty much out the window before Legion was even over. I wouldn’t mind if they came back.

Time limited = prestige. This isn’t a difficult concept.

If you didn’t play during that time, sorry but you don’t get them. Ask for more skins and accept that whiners shouldn’t be rewarded just because they want something.

I think the unlikelyhood of that happening is half the point. Particularly after they added new forms in DF it will likely be a long time, if ever, that they add more Druid forms.

It’s stupid statements like this why some of you are never taken seriously.

Well feel free to hold your breath and wait then lol

I didn’t do mage tower on druid during legion. I wasn’t playing the class back then. That said I am working on Mage Tower for fel bear.

Anyone have some good tips? Been awhile since I did tank mage tower (VDH and monk)

I would definitely just recommend reading some guides on it. Be prepared for a grind - Everyone’s skill level is different; It took me probably around 200-300 attempts to complete.

That isn’t the reason though? The reason is that blizzard very clearly indicated that the mage tower rewards were limited time, and included as much in their marketing material at the time.

Not a lawyer, but I suspect baking “limited time only, this won’t be back” in marketing meant to get people to sub during legion would entail legal risk if they brought those rewards back.

Which is why you get temu bear, instead of real manbear when you do legally distinct mage tower, not the original mage tower.

I suspect it’s a similar story to why they brought in a legally distinct bruto, instead of just selling the original for its original money equivalent of 600 dollars.

No, companies create ToS and things like that to absolve themselves of legal risk, not put themselves into it. This is a design choice not a legal one.

I’m fairly confident that if I run false advertising, but then include a clause in my TOS that says my false advertising is a-okay, the FTC doesn’t go " awww shucks, guess I can’t fine you after all, clever corporation!"

Doesn’t matter end of the day though. If they were ever going to give people complaining about not having real man bear a shot at getting it, that would have been the 20th anniversary. Or a legion remix, which given the reality that they didn’t bring back MOP challenge mode sets for remix, suggests they won’t bring back the original MT stuff either.

Someone mentioned this in a GD thread on a similar topic of Mage Tower appearances…I think Classic WoW is literally the way they could be re-introducing some of these…it’ll eventually catch up to Retail, and I think by then, if they want to merge some rewards to your account after that, it would be fair, since you’d be doing the challenges in an “era” server.

Sure, the challenges are solved by now, but it’s better than putting them on a vendor or something…and it does make a player have to earn them in one way or another.

That sounds like copium to me, if they were going to do this, they would have tested the water with merging achievements/rewards in the original classic. Way fewer people to complain about AQ opening mount, I doubt triple digits even still play, that got it that first go around.

Even ignoring that, retail launches a new expansion roughly every 2 years. While classic is trying to release at a faster pace now, even assuming a year per expansion. Your theory, if true, is that in 2036, both retail and classic will have parity. That is a LONG time away

yeah you’re probably right about that. idk it’s probably easier to just let things be, and if you really want them, just play classic. or compromise with a possible recolor in a remix event.

But they firmly said they aren’t coming back - if the FOMO andys were pushing more for NEW things, they woulda given us a new mage tower, with new sparkle kittens by now…but the constant whining about time sensetive items, and random junk being brought back made them just take the toys away from both of us…so we have this empty shell of a reward system with little effort being put into it anymore.

why are people asking for a random low pixel TCG mount to be added into the game? who knows, i want a brand new cm/mt quality cosmetic…we’re all here playing now, so why not add a new cool fomo thing we can all show off years later?

Community can be frustrating sometimes, and this thread shows a lot of that imo.

Second statement is correct.

The word you’re looking for is liability. And no, there is no liability. Think about how many times you saw a comic book with the words “death of X” on the cover… and the character came back five issues later.

We’re playing a game not buying a car.

But it would be in Blizzards interest to keep bringing new stuff to the table, instead of repackaging old designs. In the computer you can create whole new worlds, the development cost of a new character skin is so much less than a whole new dungeon I really don’t understand why they aren’t making that smart investment.
