has not been needed since they gave Tanks massive agro advantage quite a few expansions ago - same time that threat meters became redundant . Taking MD is a dps loss - hunters are there to DPS . Lats expansion BMs did not take interrupts or sooths either , that has changed in TWW but MD is still not something we take
No, even worse than that. the growl just doesn’t work in instanced content. Against bosses at least
Because of a couple of dumb hunters we lost the ability to save tanks in mythic+ with a quick taunt, it’s sad
Wouldn’t be as useful now that necrotic is gone, but still
This would be nice, but I doubt Blizz will make this change. It’s an issue that’s been around for a couple decades, and for this entire time the solution has already existed in game - hunters need to turn off pet taunt for any group content (it’s now done automatically for instanced content aside from the lvl up bug).
You’re asking for Blizz to further remove personal responsibility from the hunter class, and to fix a problem that already has a fix in-game.
But it’s not your job in outdoor content. Most outside bosses don’t need people with specific roles to beat it now besides dps mostly. A hunters/warlock pet can tank an elite rare pretty easily. People just need to move sometimes. Lol I actually wish people would stop thinking it’s always tanks job to make sure dps don’t die.
I was in a dungeon and watched a guy stand still in a swirl and right after they died a little chat bubble came up above them that said “Tank…”
I laughed! Out loud! Lol
This has been my experience with my MM hunter. Doing solo instances it sure seems like my pet does nothing to pull the boss off. I haven’t done them lately though.
Had an idea today after yet another pet spam made my life miserable.
Since tank DPS these days is designed to go up while you’re actively tanking, and pet classes sabotage tank DPS in the open world with their incessant pet autotauntspam:
- Give all tanks a spammable button that reduces the DPS of all nearby Hunters and Warlocks, in the open world.
Fair is fair.
I know your post is satire, but I think nerfing the effectiveness of pet taunts when there is an active tank on the mob needs to happen.
Siren isle is an obvious example of how annoying pets can be.
Im running my prot paly, tanking the event rares. The dumb pet either spins the rare on bad so no melee can touch it or points the mob at everyone so everyone eats breath.
And you just sit there spamming taunt trying to move the thing. Thankfully Templar hits like a truck in single target so you can easily override threat, but the constant blueberries and pet growls are irritating to say the least.
I had no idea about growl being turned back on after leveling up in a dungeon. It explains why the tank told me to stop taunting even though it appeared disabled.
OP is talking about world content.
Face it bro your just the raid pet
