Bots and gold buying is ruining our experience and the spirit of classic. Making gold soulbound would eliminate bots and create an immersive RPG where you must make alts to farm and create all your gear and consumes.

We’re already basically doing this on low pop servers.
I vote we allow bots.

It’s like one of those “pick a superpower but the next poster creates its limitation” threads.
Blizzard - Here is a currency that you earn in the game in order to create an economy where you can buy and sell goods or services.
Next poster - you cannot actually exchange the currency and instead need to use a bartering system.

Not a bad idea. No GDKPs no boosting. Just simply trade on the ah. Ez fix. This will never happen tho. Blizzard gets a cut of g2g I bet.

gold buyers will just move to the AH then. Gold needs to be soulbound on your account only, and I think maybe vendors can sell raid consumes, but that’s a big maybe for me.
While disallowing trades of any kind would as a matter of course eliminate trading things of value with RMT, it might not eliminate botting or other RMT services, RMTDKP for example.
Out of curiosity, what about bots is ruining the game for you though, and how so?
cut out the middle men, Let me on my main get every profession and gathering skill. Ill farm and make everything my char would ever need… Roll need on every pat till I have them all

I mean, you could then have the loot master’s alt put items up on the AH to be purchased by the buyer, prior to being given the item from the raid.
This could happen after the raid, or be required to be done by alts, during the raid (a slight inconvenience).

You could. If non gold items are trade-able, then something will become a common trade currency.
Like SoJs used to be in Diablo2, even though game gold exists, it’s practically useless in that game.
Making gold soulbound? That’s right! Punish the 90% to stop the 10%. You’re idea fails anyway. How does your alt enchant a soulbound piece of gear for your main? If you can’t buy the enchant then you’re saying you MUST be in a guild where they give enchants away even if you do not raid. Because no one is going to give anyone an enchant for free.
Level alts and professionas. Completely immerse yourself in the rpg to save classic

Playing one character and paying for products/services is the RPG, since otherwise you’re not roleplaying anything.
Then we can have npcs that sell bop items and enchants. Let’s make classic back to the great community it was in 2004 before bots ruined everything
