Ok, so if we go down that road, literally everything is meaningless, good idea. Nothing means anything! Pure chaos! Just do random things!
It sure can, but where are the devs going to come from for the Wotlk or TBC era servers? From the already incredibly small cata team that is still focusing on bugs that donât matter vs game breaking issues? They sure wont pull them from retailâs new expansion or the SoD passion project.
Blizzard wonât hire new people specifically for Wotlk/TBC when it will basically remain the same sub count and they donât gain a substantial value from it.
Donât be ridiculous. Blizzard could have people use their unique battle net name for posting so you couldnât like a post on all your alts. Or it could let you use your in game name but internally reference your unique battle net name so you couldnât like a post on all your alts. Some sites do things like that so you canât like or vote many times and skew the results. Blizzard doesnât care about the forum enough to stop one account from liking with every alt connected to that account. I could easily like this post about 30 times if I wanted and no one would know.
You CANâT like a post on all your alts. You can only post on them as separate entities.
Or am i wrong? Go ahead and like your post 30 times for me, Iâm not actually sure.
Iâm not going to do it 30 times but two feywaifs have just liked the post by feywaif. Proof enough for you that likes on this forum are meaningless?
Yeah maybe. I guess i can just try it when i get home. I dunno how to change characters on mobile, this mobile flow is pretty miserable.
All that being said⌠itâs still a fallacy for my original quoted poster to pretend like there isnât a ton of people that would want Wrath dedicated servers, or BC, or whatever this thread was about, i forgot.
What is a ton of people? We simply donât know how many want a wrath era server and the forums will not give us any information about that. To claim thereâs a ton of support is as wrong as claiming very few support it. Thereâs not nearly enough information to have a clue how many want wrath era.
I know what youâre saying, but youâre trying to pull from too direct of a source. (People that are going to directly answer the question being directly asked at them.)
What we do know is:
- People have shown to like classic era serves.
- People have shown that both BC and Wrath are consistently their favorite versions of Wow.
All we have to do is put 2 and 2 together. We donât need to ask anyone anything.
There has been only one classic era server and by all accounts it failed
But it has never been shown that people will pay a monthly sub forever to play those versions of wow.
Blizzard isnât asking itself how many people will play wrath era. Itâs asking how many new subs will it get if we have a wrath era? And how many subs will we lose if there is no wrath era? Thatâs the metric they use to determine if wrath era will be profitable or if they will invest time and money into it at a loss.
And that is frustrating in my op.
Like oh noes, we canât have permanent wrath classic realms. BEcause it supposedly wonât rake in a billion dollars a second.
And I wouldnât say that vanilla era failed. I saw plenty of folks on there recently.
They didnât do it right in my op. They should have kept up 2 servers. They never should have kept up all the servers. We would have plenty of folks playing wrath era with 2 servers open. Enough to make everyone happy. And have enough money for blizzard.
Those are my opinions though and my 2 cents. Blizzard might do permanent wrath era servers. They might not. No one really knows.
This I could also concur with. Wrath will always be my favorite. I wasnât into vanilla era as much, if at all. But I would be down with a permanent wrath era. And so would others I am sure.
On a similar note, Hots is legitimately my favorite moba, focusing on pvp rather than pve, and having characters i actually care about, instead of cash grab fox girls or redone wc3 units. (Its only flaw is the part of the game where one team hits level 10 first.)
But, alas, it didnât make them hand-over-fist amounts of money, so they abandoned it. (Without ever adding Baal, truly sad.)
If separate subs were implemented ⌠That would be my dream.
I would happily pay for Era (including HC), TBC Era and Wrath Era, as I would play all three. But not a Cent for SoD, Cata or Retail.
This will be very hard to tell, many of us has 6 months subs so theyâll only know with any certainty in ½ a year, and it we do not write in Reason for Quiting: Cata! / No Wrath Era! or some such, Blizz cannot tell if we just tired of WoW in general, or left for some specific reason.
I would ask everybody unsubbing from one of these reasons to state so, loud and clear in the designated box when you unsub - I did.
i dont understand why blizzard doesnt offer at least one permanent fully progressed server for each expansion. it would without a doubt increase subscriber numbers simply due to players being able to play the version of the game that they like the most. it would also allow full guilds the ability to progress through content raids and expansions at their own pace together. just blows my mind how many simple things blizzard could be doing to drastically increase the quality of the product they are offering with very little effort required, yet simply do not.
and its not like you would need to develop anything. you literally just load up what youve already made. wrath server and tbc server fully progressed to their final phase. you could run that on a $500 desktop from best buy so dont tell me anything about profit margin
Why do you get to choose the final phase? What about people who want an initial phase server? No, the whole idea is a waste of already stretched resources for a bare minimum number of players.
because the server would be designed to offset loss rather than be presented as an event or otherwise noteworthy news. it also lowers the effort requirement even lower. instead of having some dude click the button to progress the server every couple of months, now you dont have to do that at all.
I agree also. But It doesnât really seem like it is going to happen. We just have to voice complaints. That is really all we can do atm.
This company is just being annoying. I think we could get wrath servers if we cry hard enough.
?
I think many people on these forums DRASTICALLY overestimate the cost and effort it takes to keep a few servers up and running.
