Which is why the 30 minute debuff shouldn’t exist.
You could get removed for just “looking funny”, and that’s not right.

before it applied on kick, players would troll and screw up pulls and tell people to kick them if they didnt wanna be there to avoid the penalty instead of just leaving
All I wanted was a 20-40s grace period to leave without getting deserter, just to check if I got an OCE instance, because these are unplayable.
I just take the L and char swap these days, but it’d be nice if I could just get back in queue…
Better yet, do not make us SA players join OCE-based instances please.
Okay, so we’re making an assumption on what actually happened then.
Now, you’re probably right and it is a stupid reason. But the information you were given was simply to help for next time, not tell you what you did wrong. So if that came across wrong, then I apologize.
Unfortunately, changing the system won’t fix it. But maybe the implementation of some sort of whatever positive system they try to use in Final Fantasy might curb some toxicity? I don’t know, I don’t know how it works.
FF’s system might help, but probably not as much as anyone would like. These are two completely different player bases. There’s some toxicity over there, sure, but it’s usually more passive aggressive than it is downright hostile.
Because using them later speeds up the dungeon more.
Yeah, that’s fair.
Nonsense. Us Oceanic players had to play on US servers for many years and we put up with the latency and did just fine. And we still do, every time we get put into a US-based group. Whcih is most of the time as they outnumber us by a significant margin. People keep bringing up this excuse - do we sit around and blame SA players if we get in their groups? No. We just cope, because we are used of coping. We will never be locked out of random queing with non-Oceanic players because it would effectively destroy the system for us by putting us into hour+ long waits for groups. So may I suggest, get over it.
Debuff working as intended, to keep players from re-joining the same group they got the boot from or leaving. Nothing needs fixing or adjusting.
Funny story though long ago I think it was WoD I was leveling a pally tank I got kicked, because I got lost and didn’t know where I was going, 30 minutes later re qued, got in the same group I was in before and just left the group. I decided just to wait for the next day to try again. Didn’t really expect that.
This and the whole “I want LFR queues to show you how many bosses are dead when they pop” thing are 2 recurring suggestions that make it clear to me that the playerbase has a short memory. Same with being allowed to replace members in M+, though I don’t see that one as much.
These things are they way that they are for for a reason.
For this one, tanks and healers who have short queue times would queue for randoms, decide they don’t like the dungeon they got, and either troll or sit at the entrance holding the group hostage until they got kicked, so they could requeue without penalty.
For the LFR thing, that’s how it was in Cata, and it resulted in LFR runs literally dying rather than refilling if key roles left, because key roles (see: tanks and healers) would not take the partial queues, because they could just decline and would only be waiting an extra couple of minutes for another queue to pop.
For the M+ thing, it’s because people abused it in Legion, players would run 99% of a dungeon, then just boot the pugs and drag in friends for the “free” loot. So now we can’t replace members, even if they leave.
It’s not nonsense.
Our route to your servers is SA → US → OCE.
Your route to “our” servers is OCE → US.
There is no route that links us directly to SEA.
In other words, we get your regular latency ON TOP of ours (which is already at least 110ms when it’s great).
Your latency to US (and SA servers, which are located in the US) servers is ALWAYS lower than ours to OCE.
It’s literally unplayable (450-500ms+) in PvP, we can’t counter any spell on reaction, looting takes 1 SECOND PER ITEM.
I lose at least 20% DPS just by being there, it’s a miserable experience to everyone involved. It’s like trying to play fighting games with JP-based players. Even worse in some cases.
I still stand by the fact that SA players should NEVER be grouped in an OCE instance.
Better idea is dungeon blacklist and change the vote kick for anti troll behavior.
It wouldn’t be too hard to rework the vote kick feature to ensure players are not getting kicked for no reason.
People troll I seen people kick for trollish reasons. It is a outdated system that needs a upgrade. The feature should only be used if it is a must like afk or disconnect and they have no intention of coming back in.
I seen some outlandish kick reasons just to troll people. There needs to be a anti grief and anti troll feature put in place on the vote kick.
