But they do! If a character on a Roleplaying Server does not have a Roleplaying sounding name, you Right Click → Report Name and put “NOT RP” in the text box.
I have assisted in renaming A LOT of people on Grobbulus, and some guild names too. It just takes a few flags.
Also, good morning everyone! While negative posters still feed us engagement to the thread, its probably better to just ignore them if they’re just here to troll/be poopy.
I’m loving all these recounts on why RPPVP and RP is so special for everyone, keep it up!

Don’t mind me, just casually bumping this thread because it is clearly incredibly important to a large part of this community that there exists an RPPVP realm on launch - even if it isn’t as large of a topic as dual spec and GDKP.

I’ve always played on RP realms. RP PvP are my favorite. Even if I am not a huge RPer, the people that play on them are always a great and diverse bunch. Plus, there is always so much added player-made content. It is basically like how mods improve longevity of games, but by the players and their stories and imaginations.
Would love to see an RP realm of some type added. Maybe if the fresh/tbc servers are huge they will add it.

It’s really nice being able to play on a PvP server where you get into a fight in the open world and you can expect it to be a one-and-done, or just them challenging you for control over a resource/farming spot. Griefing and camping still happen, but it’s far, far rarer. It’s a place where after they res you can /bow, /salute, and be on your respective merry ways

I do unfortunately think that having both an RP and an RP-PvP might not be the best idea, considering Blizzard only wants a tiny handful of realms and the RP community isn’t massive.
Seeing as RP-PvP is a pretty popular format compared to PvE-RP, it would probably be better if we just have one server which ensures that the community won’t be split.

I can see that, was more going for a balance approach.
Some rp folk like to pvp some don’t.
Whatever they thought was best as a community though.
I would play on a rppvp server, but not an rp server. I like pvp.
I just want everyone to be happy and the community to thrive.

If I were Blizzard, I’d wait until launch day, then once streamers have selected the realm they will play on, THEN drop the RP servers so the SoD debacle doesn’t happen again.

I feel like RP is pretty natural in a PvP setting. Most of the hardcore mmo pvp games I played always had RP just take place organically. Especially for world pvpers lol. Always fun to have a backstory in place before going to war.
