You can PvP on a PvE server? What’s the big deal?
It’s a gathering spot for like minded people. When you’re seeking RPers, it’s more likely to encounter them when others do the same and know of a spot to go to. It sets a precedent.

I cannot look at the entirety when i haven’t been there for it. All i see as a new player to classic looking for rp it’s non existent from my point of view. I am not up to date with what guilds to join or cliques to be in. As somone loading up classic whatever current iteration. And looking to people to rp with there is no one there. Perception is a big factor. If rp on a server or a server looks dead it is considered dead unfortunately

You’re not wrong, but wouldn’t that mean trying to search for RP on a non-RP server would be harder and discouraging because you’re not sure if other people would be into the same thing right before you even start?
Also, Classic versions of WoW have been in a lull across the board due to waiting for new patches and now obviously these fresh realms starting up. You may not be able to see prior data becuase you weren’t there, but trust those asking and read the stories so many have posted in the main topic thread.

Outside of the fact that Ellis has been pushing for mega servers to provide constant availability of pugs and the like at all hours, there is only one reason I can think of for their hesitance so far.
They might be thinking that if they release RP-PVP servers as they did for SOD, they will just be flooded by streamers and will end up being indistinguishable from regular PvP servers. I’m not quite sure of how you solve that, although the fact that most streamers will be recluded in HC this time around (for a bit at least) might work in favour of the RP-PVP server.
S***, if they introduced a RP-PvP server for fresh I’d drop for a 12-month resub that minute. It’s the only version of the game that retains my interest long-term.

Grobbulus has been going strong since Classic launch. Discord is somewhere around 17k members last I looked.
It’s in Cata now and the community isn’t into anything after Wrath.
You’re not going to have multiple RP realms flourish, just need the 1.

I can’t speak for most of the people on discord for fresh, but I have a feeling if they announced an RP-PVP server an hour or even 2 hours post launch, many would just drop everything and run to it.
I would. F the 4 to 6 levels I’ve gained or hours wasted. I’ll do it again just to be on an rp server.

Same here. Announcing it ahead of time would be ideal, but I have no intention on seriously investing on PvE/PvP. I’d gladly drop what I was doing to join an impromptu RPPvP release, otherwise I’ll probably just let my subscription run out.

We phrase it “throwing us a bone” in an attempt to approach the conversation in good faith, but the fact of the matter is that it’s their subscription pool that they’re running a risk of hamstringing.
Which, especially given the success of F R E S H on DD, the RP-PvP realm, if official fresh flops and they don’t have this at launch despite the community outpouring of support, I’d hate to be the one trying to answer the question from higher up of why this dedicated playerbase was ignored from the rip.
I wonder what their risk assessments look like, that potentially merging the RP-PvP realm with regular PvP realm down the line is apparently a greater threat to their bottom line than actually releasing one server per play style like they said they would.

Chaos Bolt’s paltry 8000 players wasn’t enough to pay for the server costs.

Correct, the server pop. is way more then Discord community as a lot don’t join
20 years of WoW experiences and prior to that with Everquest and the biggest best kept secret through all of that is being able to play on a RPPVP realm. There is no experience like it whether you RP or not. The feel of the server is different, the laughter, the fun, the adventure hits different on a RP-PVP Realm.
Playing MMO’s for 25 years and it took until Grobbulus was released to understand what I had been missing. Please Blizzard be courageous and unleash a RPPVP server again prior to launch.
Pull out your contacts, get Blizz’s eyes on this thread, let them know what the community craves! Spread the word, get people in this thread adding their support. Please don’t let launch come and go without a RP-PVP realm!

Server pop is sub 4k
I was getting ready to cancel my subscription, because retail has become so boring. Then, I saw fresh vanilla servers were announced, and I immediately thought back to playing on Grobbulus on launch, in 2019, and the amazing community and fun times it fostered.
Then when I saw there was no RPPvP servers planned for this launch, I was pretty bummed out.
THEN, I saw a man drink his own pee on stream while being cheered on by a bunch of degenerates screaming the N word and various other slurs. They spent a good portion of the night spamming their chat channels with pornography.
Blizzard, I’m begging you. Don’t force me to play with those animals. It will completely ruin this fresh launch for me. You’ll lose yourself one more, - of what I assume will be quite a few, - customer.

According to a source, Aggrend has spoken directly to, they will not be creating any more servers.
The only possible chance of there being any new server, not even saying it would be RP tagged, would be if they grossly underestimated the popularity of this relaunch and it simply is not feasible on a consistent basis to keep the two(three) servers as planned.
RiP RP community. Classic Devs don’t care about us.
Unbelievable. People should start sharing screenshots of the PvP Discord on Twitter. Make them own the environment they’re creating.
