My vote for a RPPVP server as well. Played Ravenholdt back in 07, Grob in Classic, and really hope to have a RPPVP server for the new release. Thanks for bringing this topic to light…again.

In vanilla I was on Scarlet Crusade RP. It was rare to see RPers. It was almost a cardinal sin to be caught RPing.

Has anybody made any posts pushing for an RP-PvP server outside of the forums? Like on Reddit or Twitter? I’m honestly a little worried that even if this post does well that a lack of visibility will end up hurting the cause.
…I kinda just don’t trust that Blizzard looks at their own forums compared to other platforms where they, or spokespeople for them, seem more vocal.

I haven’t read the entire thread but I skimmed and saw a lot of sharing about what makes RPPVP magical. Here’s my two cents:
It makes the game like Disneyland. There’s the principal cast members you are there to see like Micky and Donald, these are your major NPCs like Thrall, Jaina, Sylvanas. But what you get on an RP realm is the rest of the support cast, the park employees. Only the support cast in this case are players filling the space, interacting with each other in character. In city spaces, in dungeon runs, it was everywhere. Players in character using the "say " channel or sending emotes. Very often it was in reference to the broader Azeroth universe bringing the level of immersion you cant get on any other server. Everything else feels stale and distant. Kind of just going through the motions of game play with no real connection.
As for the PVP ruleset, yeah sure I suppose RPPVE could offer a similar feel. Call it a preference, but I’ve never been able to feel like I was playing the game if it was on a Care Bear server. Beyond that the in character play continued out in world PVP! Entire guilds of character players who were ready to deploy into the field and enact justice on behalf of their faction. We all know STV turns into a battlefield almost every night, but talking smack in character is just on a different level of fun. I miss it.
And all of this is me as a player who didn’t engage in active RP, I just loved to be immersed in it. There is no server type that compares. I don’t like throwing around meaningless ultimatums, but the truth is I’m soft on Fresh launch as it stands. If Blizz puts in a RPPVP server I’m so there for it. It’s what I miss most about WoW when I think about the Good Ol Days.

On almost every post the Classic devs have made regarding the new changes, I’ve seen comments about wanting an RPPvP server, so hopefully it’s something that’s reached their ears by now.

Honestly, I’m pretty optimistic by this point. Maybe it’s undue; I guess we’ll see soon enough. Either way, it’s great that everyone has been able to come together to express our love of RP servers in such numbers, especially on such short notice.

Blizzard, please please please do not alienate a large portion of the classic community by not releasing an RP realm.
RP servers matter, they are a vital part of the classic experience.

I don’t know how they thought there wouldn’t be calls for this to begin with RP is the purest form of an MMORPG anyway. Do the obvious right thing, Blizz. You’ve done well with the changes that you’ve made. Just one more logical addition here.

I’m so happy to see you post about this, I was worried that I was standing alone in wanting an RPPvP server, and upset that we once again, have been forgotten or over looked. I’m pleased to see that 1.8k other people are wanting this as well!
My first taste of an RPPvP server was Emerald Dream 2008 till 2019 and I’ve been on Grobbulus since Classic launched. In TBC I did make a fresh character to try Deviate Delight, but Grobb is and always will be home.
RPPvP communities are special to me and I cherish them wholeheartedly.
I’ve met so many wonderful people (and a few bad eggs, sure) on Grobbulus— I met my husband (Jrocbaby), I found out I had cancer and went through surgeries/treatments before and during the Ahn’Qiraj War Efforts, the community and guilds I met along the way were a tremendous support system, truthfully still is, I would’ve never found that on a ‘normal’ server.
alright, I guess I can’t say never…
And the events everyone put so much effort into, like Grobbchella and Grobbapalooza! Oh my gosh, so much fun! All the Gurubashi Arena PvP brawls and tournaments, the Grobbulus News Papers and RP Markets chef’s kiss, fighting along side Dwarven Overlords and Clan Battlehammer during the first week of Classic, just to fight off the Horde in Hillsbrad Foothills when we should all be leveling; being an Elf I did get spit on a few times… but they were happy for my stinky Night Elf Priest heals, hehe Transmog events, Halloween parties for both Factions, Mardi Grobb, The Moonglade Award Party and remember when we had an Election for Mayor? Everyone campaigned their hearts out and did speeches, we all lined up and voted in Stormwind, Dwarven District. Oh I could go on and on…!
Anyways, time to reel myself in.
I’ve personally never found this elsewhere besides RPPvP servers and darn it, I want it for Fresh! I wish to experience this all over again and for others to as well 
P.S This was so not “lightening in a bottle”. We had all this and more on Emerald Dream and Moon Guard first

RPPVP is a thing that has been solid for a very long time! The sense of community is never as strong as it is on places like Grobbulus Venture Company, and Emerald dream. RPPVP allows for even large guilds to get into things such as events, and encourages strong community events and friendships,
