Please Include *One* RPPVP Server for Anniversary Realms

Yikes, imagine that being the take away.

What reaction do you anticipate the standard PvP realm to have regarding these roleplayers?
While I won’t deny that some people would still do their best to roleplay, they would be few and far between compared to what you would see in a dedicated server.

PvPRP is always a popular location for RPers to enjoy their gameplay to the fullest. It seems foolish to not have a server dedicated to this. Blizzard knows how popular these types of servers are so I’m curious the mindset they have of not putting one in at the start. If you think PvP servers are not going to be popular, Blizzard, you are very mistaken on this matter. PvP is a staple of Classic.

All true. Sounds like there shouldn’t be an RPPVP realm then…

I found screenshots of the Grobbulus 1 Year Celebration Party:

Try that on a PvP server.

Did you really just “no u” me? lmfao jesus christ you’re really running out of straws to pull out of your rear aren’t you?

As I previously mentioned, historically, there has NEVER been a case where any iteration of WoW has launched with only two (2) non-HC servers to choose from. So, historically, there isn’t any evidence that an RPPVP server would kill these 2 non-RPPVP servers. Nor has there been any evidence that it wouldn’t kill them. It’s a non argument, and it seems to be your biggest one.

This situation is unprecedented. We can only point to two remotely similar cases, one in 2019 where they added an RPPVP server due to demand and it remained full for 90 percent of c2019’s lifespan, and SoD, where they botched the launch due to not revealing server names and making it easier for streamers to decide on the RPPVP server - which is what killed CS’s RP community.

Get back to work and off the WoW forums man, you’re becoming a liability to your company if you haven’t been one already.

I mean it’s the internet, you’re going to have bad actors regardless. However, I think people are blowing it out of proportion saying they are going to be constantly harassed. Also let’s not forget how vast Azeroth is, even in classic. There is always a corner of Azeroth free of detractors.

Me personally, I could care less if it’s going on around me, and I would be tempted to join one of the events Bloom organized; however, I was never able to due to prior commitments.

All this is fine, sure - say we are blowing it our of proportion and the PvP server ends up having the same atmosphere as an RPPvP server would, literally what is the harm in opening one up to see how the community handles it? Worse comes to worse, it flops and they end up transferring everyone to the only other available PvP server.

You think the RPPvP community is big enough to fracture the only other one pvp server and cause it to die out? If so, seems there’d be more of a reason to cater to us and have you all feel like “guests” on our server when you’d eventually be given free xfers off your dead PvP server.

I’m of the mind now that they should just change the realms to RP realms.

Only three realms! RP, RP-PVP and Hardcore.

What? I literally have no idea what you’re talking about, but feel free to send me a DM on disc if someone I know has been. We’ve kicked people from the guild for less and have been consistent about this.

I don’t know what other personal issues you apparently have with me, having barely ever interacted with each other, but whatever it is, I just want you to know

I accept your apology

oooh. that’s not a bad idea

Will do.

Disagreement != issue with you personally.

I just don’t think we should fracture the player base for a niche aspect of the game, given the small era population.

Blows my mind that you think adding an RPPVP server is going to have any tangible impact on the 1 other PvP server that exists.

If it helps, I do not think we are thinking Era.

They are planning to progress these servers to TBC, and then to Wrath, etc.

Given the massive success of the original launch and of TBC, I think that it’s pretty reasonable to assume that this set of servers will have a sufficient playerbase to keep two primary servers and an RP realm healthy.
Should this turn out to be untrue, and either the PvP or RP-PvP realm dies, then they could ultimately just be merged together.

If Grobb was the only PvP server that survived then they might have a point but that’s just straight up not what happened. The rest of them didn’t maintain faction balance, but the other PvP servers persisted just fine.

Not to mention, from what I understand, the most populated realm(s) on Era are PvP. Grobb is moving along swimmingly in Cata with a medium pop while the full / locked realms are the PvP Realms.

So I ask @Bramblehoof and others who share his sentiment once again, what harm do you foresee occurring to the one existing PvP server at the hands of an RPPvP server? I only see the one potential downside and it is for our position - in that the server might flop, and we’d be forced to migrate over onto your realm.

I think that’s fair take; however, I’m uncertain how many that will bring in. Considering TBC classic launched with a free boost, people who want to play tbc or wotlk are likely to just skip over vanilla or the other expacs they aren’t interested in… Additionally, I don’t think this (re)fresh will have as nearly many players as 2019 classic, but this is just my speculation.
