I am not privy to DD drama, but to think every server is pure, well, we know that isn’t reality, just like life. Its up to the community to respond accordingly, and I am very proud to say Grobbulus does a good job of that.
Grobbulus had to deal with The En.clave, and needless to say, they were very much so not welcome.
I’ve created the thread to show my passion and interest for the RPPVP community server, and its up to them to voice their love for RPPVP, given the tiny window available.
I played on original DD and I don’t recall this drama. But I played Horde. DD was amazing and I wouldn’t trade the experience of RP-PVP for anything. Add me to the list of people in favor of RV-PVP realms.

I don’t think that was drama. There was an endearing dwarf warrior (I forget his name) who would frequent chat with his tales of adventures in UBRS, on his epic quest to obtain Felstriker… it was rather nice.
But, I wouldn’t point to that as a shining example of maturity
Crusader-Strike is an RPPVP server, and there were some pretty cool events like the Running of the Dwarfs for New Year’s Eve (or Day? I don’t recall), for example.
But playing on Grobb (2019 → progression) or Crusader Strike have largely been no different from any other server.
And that’s fair. I suppose I’m just trying to point out that there certainly are RP servers for Era currently, just because the two new ones don’t happen to be designated RP specifically doesn’t mean that the RP community has been forgotten or left out.
Afterall, how long until people on these fresh realms are at max level and then comparing server populations to Whitemane or other Era servers.
I made mention of a guy, why do both of you immediately jump to “drama”? What the heck guys?
I support this and would def play on the RPPVP server. When free xfers opened up in TBC from dead realms, I went to Grob and it was awesome. Wished I would of been there day 1 from Classic.

Thank you for making such a comprehensive post. As someone who moved from playing on standard realms to RP ones, I fully agree that there is a huge difference in the atmospheres between the two. Hopefully more people voice their support of having an RP-PvP server; I fully admit that it’s possible that such a realm will run into issues down the line, yet there’s also a good chance that it will be an incredible experience as RP realms tend to be.

I’d pref a regular rp realm, as last time rppvp was flooded with streamers and worse their followers.
Reg rp servers are super chill and laid back.
That’s the internet in a nutshell, and especially with recent times, negativity is ‘more viral’ than positivity, and I could not tell if the sentence was genuine or held a sarcastic tone, but he sounds like an awesome little dude.
I wouldn’t consider myself mature, but the maturity levels of PvP vs RPPVP is very different. If you haven’t looked at the Anniversary PVP Discord, go take a sample, it’s, uh…

I mean, I would say his presence definitely contributed to an overall better experience for those on the server (at least in my opinion), so yeah.
Meh, fair enough… your thread here just may be convincing me that an RP PVP realm would be better to have than not!

I support this and I think Blizzard should really consider this.

Throwing my support behind this - I played on Grobb for a few years in Classic and I’m the GM of the casual RP guild that formed on the DD F R E S H movement several months ago, and we’re gearing up to do it all again on official fresh.
To say we’d be disappointed by not having an RP-PvP server would be a terrible understatement. Frankly, I think rolling on regular PvE or regular PvP servers would run a huge risk of shortening the lifespan of the guild. It’s hard to explain to someone who wasn’t there for Grobb or original DD or “F R E S H DD” just how special those communities were, but it’s the absolute closest thing you can possibly get to playing WoW like it’s your first time again.
The game doesn’t end when you kill the raid boss because having an entire server (or at least a significant portion) that’s invested in that RP community and emergent gameplay through silly RP events keeps people coming back and keeps the server healthy. We’re a bunch of f***n dorks. It rocks. But it’s really, really tough to maintain in a more hostile environment. It becomes niche, and makes it exceptionally unlikely that folks new to it will give it a try.
There’s a reason why Grobb players still speak of that 2019-2020 experience with reverence, and there is a reason why the F R E S H movement took place on an RP-PvP realm. It wasn’t just because of the particular layering - it’s because of the community and environment it cultivates.
Give us a chance to cultivate it again.

Very well said! We’re all ready to create more memorable, silly, crazy, and fun memories on an Anniversary RPPVP server.
I highly encourage everyone in favor bringing your RPPVP communities here to add their voice/vote to the thread .

I definitely think that RP guilds would struggle on the standard PvP/PvE realms. Time and time again, I’ve seen roleplayers face hostility from people outside of the community due to misunderstandings and generalizations; players attempting to RP on the standard classic realms would likely face this sort of reaction and yet have nowhere else to go (in terms of fresh, progressing realms).

Thank you for this amazing post, good sir. The only way we’ll get RP/RPPvP realms is if we show blizzard how many people want them!!

I agree with adding the RPPvP server for all of what was said above and more.
