You know nothing of classic or blizzards intention.
1.12 is the baseline because they have nothing prior to that. Their intention with classic is to create the vanilla WoW experience. They’ve stated that plainly. No changes applies to stuff outside 1.1 - 1.12.

Hmmm? Why would you suggest he do something like this? What discredits him from giving his opinion on PvP?
I don’t see most people enjoying old old AV for very long. A BG that lasted so long there was a freaking breakroom where members of both faction would go to afk when they needed a break or were tired of fight? As fun as that could be just to remember how ridiculous it was and to have coffee with the opposing faction and share a “what are we doing with our lives?” moment, who really has 7 hours to run a single bg?
It’s still long enough that you see the Ice Lord summoned and such. It’s not like 1.12 AV could be considered short match. It can take 45 minutes just to push to a new GY. And after 45 min you could be pushed back to square one. An hour and a half in and nobody could be winning. I had fun watching 2 streamers on opposite sides of the same GY and both factions were frustrated because they were “losing”. When in reality neither was winning or losing because neither side made any progress for 45 minutes. The only thing to happen on the map was that someone capped snowfall. And awhile later the other side capped it.

Old AV should be preserved for the same reason Classic is being made. It’s special and it isn’t available anywhere else.

Blizzard is preserving 1.12, just like how we’ll be getting 1.12 talents and dungeons we’re getting 1.12 AV.

at the very least i say maybe see if they can release an older version of AV on the beta and see how people end up liking it so they’ll know what to do before release

that weird i dont remember loot trading, layering, maraudon available on release, right click reporting or a bunch of other alterations in vanilla. how strange.

They can’t add the old AV because those servers are still being used by the last people to que and won’t they won’t be accessible until they finish their BGs. That’s why we’re getting the 1.12 version.

If AV is not original AV with the NPCs etc. that will drastically reduce my already ambivalent desire to play classic.

this here… The more I hear how Classic is playing out in these forums , the less I want to play. AV was a huge part of my game play back then and if ~THIS~ is all they got…not interested.

all of you sohuld be happy that we get classic in it’s 1.12 forms … that Blizzard had a backup of a backup on a backup … like oyu guys are asking way too much things.

Guess since its 1.12 we will get dm and naxx on launch too. And i guess pvp gear as well. Layering and right click report and bnet and loot trading where also in 1.12.
And ya some amatuers on private servers made old av but asking a muti billion dollar small indie studio like blizz to do it is just asking too much guys.

Those “amatuers” had 5+ years … even 10 years to make thing as they were, and even then, they were innacurate(but tried to be as accurate as possible)

Be happy with what you will get. If it wasn’t of that backup of a backup of a backup… we would probably be not there with Classic today.
Hell, i’m not saying i’m against 1.5-1.7AV, and the testing of the AV they having now could help to bring 1.5AV back to life … i don’t know.

It didnt take people 5 years to revert AV back lol.
If you want a quick bg go to ab or wsg. Or go to retail and zerg down those generals in 10 mins all you want.
I dont think asking blizz to do this is too much and if it is we are gonna have a lot of problems with classic bigger than av to worry about.

Never said it took 5 years to revert … i said PS had a lot of time on their hands 5+ years. That doesn’t mean it took 5 years to revert back.
Imagine that Blizzard actually pull out 1.5-1.7 AV at a decent state(still need testing to verify if it work and etc)
Guess what will happen. Of course people will be happy about it … But allowing that domino fall will cause other domino to fall … which are other things people want … like unarmoured mounts … itemization… and etc… Do you think Blizzard would allow all of it?
