Please help with Artisan's Acuity

Can anyone explain to me how to get more Artisan’s Acuity for crafting. I can’t find any info on the subject.

Thank you
PS I do not have professions and have 0 interest in leveling any.

The comments give a pretty decent rundown on how to acquire more.

The only source of Artisan’s Acuity is the initial lump sum given from the tutorial quest for work orders, or earned by primary professions. If you aren’t going to acquire a primary profession you will not be able to earn more Artisan’s Acuity on any character who has completed the work orders tutorial quest.

From the WoWhead comments on this

As of first reset, you can acquire more through patron orders in your crafting order table. So far it seems to be limited to 12 patron orders per week (not all give you acuity though). Also not sure how to get more as gatherer besides new knowledge.

The only repeatable source for gatherers is a chance to get 5 when gathering, when you get an item that gives you Knowledge Points such as Deepgrove Petal Deepgrove Petal from herbing, Slab of Slate Slab of Slate from mining, or Toughened Tempest Pelt Toughened Tempest Pelt from skinning. The weekly quests, available at skill 25 from the Trainer in Dornogal, only grant 3 Knowledge Points. If you are behind on progress there is a catch-up mechanism, once you have done this weekly quest, where you can continue gathering treasures until caught up.

It only comes from professions.

You can do gathering professions, though they get it at a much much slower pace unfortunately. If you aren’t in a hurry then they could be an option. Just take a combo of herbing, mining, and skinning. You don’t have to grind it out, just gather what you stumble up.

You need to hit level 25 (it’s really easy) then technically you dont have to gather any more at all. You get weekly quests that give you a small amount of the stuff, and you can buy the needed items on the AH.

Edit: edited in having to reach level 25 to see the weekly quests.

I believe you require 25 skill to see the quests, as they reward knowledge points. A minor distinction but if the OP is unwilling to level them to that point, it is worthwhile to mention.

Good point thank you. I hit level 25 so long ago on the professions I didn’t think about that.

Only comes from professions.

For recrafts you need 20 so you should ask your crafter ahead of time how much in tip do they want for their 20 acuity. Or learn a gathering profession and just gather herbs/ore/skin for the acuity and selling the stuff you farmed.

They really should, imo, remove Acuity cost for recrafts of gear that isn’t profession gear.

Oh how do I send orders out if other people can spend their acuity on me?

They can see if you’ve included the acuity in the mats, far as I know. Public orders might be different and not have that functionality. e.: After some searching, this is indeed the case again with TWW. You’ll have to start asking for available crafters in Trade chat if you can’t provide all the materials.

Then they can determine if the commission you’ve included is enough to cover the loss of their own.

Recrafts cannot be public orders btw. Only combat gear recrafts require Artisan’s Acuity, they don’t need it for the base item.

You will need to communicate with them.

For example say you are looking for a recraft on a dagger. You would say in trade chat “LF BS to recraft (item)” then whichever Blacksmith says they can do it you say that you don’t do professions and would it be ok to pay for 20 of their Acuity for recraft and how much will they charge for that.

From my own experience, herbalism stands out as the easiest way to gather artisan acuity with any speed. Next after that would be mining. But skinning should be avoided as the drop rate for skill up tokens is abysmal for a solo player.

As others have suggested, doing patron work orders can give a weekly trickle, but crafting professions are far behind gathering professions where effort:reward is concerned.
