Blizzards computer driven AI balancing employee wants a spec with AI controlled pet elements to be the best in the game. You cant argue with a computer. Seriously blizz, arenas are no fun with this terrible autopilot gameplay.
Remember when pet classes had one pet? Well, Pepperidge Farms remembers.
UI Nameplate cleave is so obnoxious.

I don’t even hate BM and really enjoy playing it, but when the spec is tuned the way it currently is where it’s using all it’s mobility to W key then there’s a real problem.
BM damage absolutely needs a nerf atm.

I can say in a shuffle last night at 1800MMR there was a destro, dh, fury war and me, bm. I was doing well over 5-600dps on the lock and controlling the healer with traps, stuns etc. it almost seemed unfair. 5-1 lobby because I did die once in a coil chaos bolt spam

As long as Demo doesn’t replace BM sure. EDIT: in all seriousness though I knew Tuesdays changes were going to be a slap on the wrist but actually turned into a slight pat instead. BM definitely is doing one of the highest if not the highest single target dps numbers in arenas and shuffle right now. It was in a good spot already in 11.0.2.
Also don’t want a Demo meta.

The recent Demo buffs I feel like are just the beginning. Also was in a solo shuffle last night against a Demo and I felt like I was getting insanely chunked.
Also sadly if they gut BM Hunter there isn’t really any other competitive option in PvP other than Survival for Hunter at this point with MM getting trashed with the last patch due to stealth nerfs and reduced damage on Aimed Shot/Rapid Fire. The damage of Black Arrow also feels like it was heavily nerfed from what I tested in MM PTR.
I don’t think a lot of Hunters are going to want to be swapping over to Survival sadly.

I went head to head with a BM the other day on my enhance. We both popped CDs, including defensives.
BM Hunter:
SotF
Exhilaration
Feign
BW (And w/e else they have for offenseives)
VS
Enhance:
Astral Shift
Ancestral Guidance
Stone Bulwark
Ascendance
BM not only out damaged me by quite a bit, but also seems to out heal me in the short burst. I was legitimately surprised. I thought I would have at least forced turtle. Maybe I had some bad procs. Regardless, BM is pretty tanky and does a ridiculous amount of damage. That their CDs are doing similar to higher output then me with stormbringer build ascendance… again, I was really surprised.

Everytime people scream nerf bm. Demo lock shows people what real pet damage looks like😂 (not defending bm I hate it too).

People DO hate on demo as well and are just as vocal if not moreso depending on tuning.
While the pet nameplates and screen clutter are universally hated, they do their damage totally different. BM pet could be entirely invisible and it wouldn’t change their damage; it’s just a class with 0 damage conditionals that spams near-unhealable instant cast st damage from range.
Demo warlock summons pets (charhound is the new vilefiend, dogs, and imps from HoG that cast) and the pets do the damage as opposed to BM which is basically just spamming giga icelances with every global.

I actually Do think BM is one of if not the only thing keeping Demo back. We should probably consider looking into Demo as well. If they nerf BM its no biggee for me I will only play it in shuffle or something and swap to Surv to play in everything but I dont think Surv can handle Demo as well as BM can.
Bm is keeping several specs down to be fair, but lock/mage/sp are on that list 100%.
Very true. It seems like survival has some INSANE stacked and cleave damage, but is lacking in ST compared to bm.
That being said, I hit a 1mil explosive shot into back to back 1.1 million WFBombs yesterday with an honor polearm and mostly haste gear, so I could see survival totally cranking.
I would actually have it to where Mage sp Destro and Aff had an equal chance against a BM Hunter if Bm can keep Demo down tbh or give Surv more capability to do so. I hate Demo meta the most.
So it’s like an exterminator service, interesting.

I didn’t play mop or wod, but I heard there were some crazy shenanigans with stampede, separation anxiety, and blink strikes where you’d literally lose to the AI pet.

WoD you could do, almost, your entire rotation from los. You would have double BM just pillaring while their pets are killing you.
MoP still had pets giving buffs and their unique abilities, so if you also had spirit beasts you would get 5 HoTs on top of their kicks, ccs, and buffs.
I still have PTSD from stampede.
