I see that you’re enjoying your unique and well-rendered hairstyle with that lovely mog that sits nicely on the character’s model. It has braids! Must be so nice.

That’s what this is about.
Blood Elf and Human are the most popular races in this game, and it’s not even close. They are the most common choice made. The Thalassian elf model and the Stormwind human model are the ones chosen by more players than any other.
The decision to give the best customization options to less popular races was not an accident. It’s not like they sat in meetings about this and just forgot. It was a calculated choice. They likely believed they were encouraging engagement with the less popular races, and that makes sense, but if they’d thought about it for just a little bit longer, they might have realized that denying the player base what they actually want is not good game design. It’s simply purposeful frustration of the player.
And when you purposefully frustrate the player, this is what happens.
You have a whole crowd of folks rolling Dracthyr characters to get at what they really wanted, which was access to better customization for the two most popular races in the game.
And I say this as a devoted Night Elf main (who has several plaited hairstyles that fit my model nicely to choose from).
I picked the undead guy because I wanted to play the undead guy.
You picked the draconic race because you wanted to play a slightly modded Blood Elf/Human depending on [Body Type] selection.
