Please give us Dual Spec

All history is relevant. Dual spec didn’t damage the community aspect. More groups are formed if there are more tanks and healers

A large group of people left in Cata. Almost no one claims it was because of dual spec. Most of the complaints I’ve seen claim they didn’t like the talent changes, they didn’t like that the old world was destroyed and they didn’t like cross realm auto port lfd. None of those changes were caused by dual spec. They are all different and separate changes.

There are trade offs. Feral’s defense and survivability are almost entirely gear dependent, whereas a lot of Restoration’s survivability is built-in.

Again: Tank and healer shortages were not solved with dual spec. If people wanted to tank or heal, they would. The issue does not come from a lack of choice more than it does the community’s inability to understand patience and allow people to learn/grow into their classes.

More groups. More! Faster! This tank sucks! Why did you roll need for off spec? Add personal loot! This tank joined group and left! We need deserter debuff!

Grouping is taking too long, add the dungeon finder so I don’t have to devote more then a few clicks while I wait to be auto grouped and auto teleported!

Faction imbalance is ruining the game, give us cross realm grouping to fix it! More! Now! Me, me, me. I don’t care about anyone else, I will never see them again, I just want my loot.

Tell me again about how community will be fine.

How many groups do you need?
I just need 4 other friends for a dungeon. And a guild of around 30 people to raid.

30 people. Or just 4. You can’t find 4 other players to play the game with you? If that’s true, then the community is already dead and we might as well quit pretending.

It won’t end with dual spec.

Cross realm grouping and dungeon finder are not features of dual spec. And saying that by adding dual spec we are all saying yes to those features is nothing more than a strawman fallacy.

Safe to assume you like most others don’t have a valid argument against dual spec itself

They thought differently later about queuable dungeons too.

Maybe they could add that too?

TBC is TBC with its QoL feature present from its own expansion.

You can argue for adding Wrath era features and we can argue against it.

Others can argue for other non-TBC feature as well like LFD or transmog and we’ll argue against those too.

Let TBC be TBC.

People rolling for off spec. People getting mad and demanding Blizzard fix the problem of greedy people. So we get personal loot.

In another thread people want Blizzard to fix the faction imbalance. So they add cross realm grouping.

Together, all the unrelated QoL changes add up and destroy community. I think it’s silly to assume Blizzard will stop meddling with TBC classic. People WANT them to.

I just wanted TBC. Not retail with less content.

  • Misrepresents their opponent’s position to make it easier to defeat.

My position is that Blizzard isn’t going to stop meddling with the game once you get the changes you want. Other people will ask for other things, they will get added, and cause more problems requiring more changes.

You seem to think that I think dual spec will ruin the game. No, not by itself. It’s a change that will change how people play and interact with each other and the negatives from that change will have other people pushing for more changes to fix it. And those changes will bring more problems that need fixing and it does not stop.

And some will call this out as the slippery slope fallacy while simultaneously stating how Blizzard already made a few other changes and that should be part of the reason why it’s ok for them to make their desired change.

That’s what I’m saying? Why is this an argument. We already have changes, and they have negatively impacted the game, and other players. This has all been done before, and I watched it happen, and I’m watching it happen again.

It’s like an adult telling a kid not to touch a hot stove because it will burn them and the kid telling the adult that they are dumb for thinking that.

These people didn’t want and don’t want TBC - They don’t want retail. I don’t know what they want, I don’t think they do either.

I’m agreeing with you.

I have never claimed dual spec solved the tank or healer shortage. Only that it would create more tanks and healers and make the shortage less severe

Still no real arguments against dual spec…

If blizzard implements dual spec then the next day we will have Paid Professions boosts, Instant lvl 70 boosts, back massages for RMT gold traders…

It’s all speculation, and not a good argument against a problem that blizzard has solved.

No it wouldn’t

It would

None of the blizzard changes to classic or BC classic have negatively impacted the game for me. The changes brought about by the players have.

It’s more like the adult telling the kid not to touch a hot stove, or a cold stove, or a box because it’s square like a stove, or the sink because it’s next to the stove. All those things are different and not all are dangerous. Some of the changes over the years have produced a better game and some have not. Only those who lack discernment lump them all together.

Game is unplayable unless they give us PentaSpec. I need 2 raid specs (one aoe, one ST), 2 pvp specs (BG & arena) and a mob farming spec. Or just unlock all 153 talents point at once. Also give me abilities from other classes. Also can we just change TBC to be exactly like shadowlands? Thanks.
