Please Give Us Account-wide Rep

It would be a dream come true to have account wide rep. No clue why they will not even discuss this with their customers.

This I don’t get actually. I have a friend who got to Exalted with the Zandalari Tribe pre Cata, after which that faction was removed from the game and the rep could no longer be gained (I think one of my toons got to Honored). But my friend was very happy that she got that achievement. It didn’t reward anything particularly useful, its just an achievement and it was unique.

But there would be no benefit to having that account-wide. She - as the player - was happy to get it on that toon. Why bother to have it on other toons? Getting it herself was what was important.

I personally would not object to seeing something similar done as they did in MoP - reach Exalted, buy an item which when activated gives you double rep for that particular faction account-wide. That would majorly reduce the work you need to do on alts without entirely removing the requirement.

Because it was little things like that and more that made it really tough to retire my DK (the character I got those reps and legacy achievements on) and reroll as a mage main at the end of Legion.

I don’t play my DK anymore. The class just doesn’t interest me anymore and he’s now sitting retired on a server I can’t even quite remember the name of. But he’s been my character from day one of Wrath to the mid part of Legion, with a lot of things I wish I could just transfer to my new main, the mage. Reps, my HKs, my achieves, etc. But eh, it is what it is.

Not sure about account wide rep. I do think rep grinds need some work. The rep tabard is a popular idea. Or maybe after 1 toon gets revered it unlocks an account wide tabard that you can give to alts for bonus rep. Have it work for dungeons, WQs, emissary, and maybe some other things.

Account wide archaeology too please.

I wouldn’t mind this given I’ve maxxed archaeology on numerous characters. xD

Another thought, that will no doubt be unpopular, is making it a microtransaction. Blizz does seem to like to monetize everything, so why not a fee on a per character basis to upgrade rep from previous expacs?

That way if someone decided to switch to a new main they could pay a fee to have all the rep from another character added to the new one?

I’m not saying I advocate this, but it’s definitely the sort of thing I could see happening. Before you say it won’t ever happen, I remember people saying the same thing about race and faction changes years ago as well.

Because it is a ridiculously stupid idea? My main is an engineer, so I can get the 3-star patterns more easily since play this char the most.

Why should your 8th-in-importance engineering alt get to have the same rep perks that I do, just because you unlocked the rep on, say, your tailoring main?

Because you already did the grind once. Why make someone, on the same account, do it again, only for time gate purposes?

It actually stops me from leveling toons for current content.

If they want you to play current content, then they should make it less of a grind for alts, but then again I am not positive they care if you play, just pay.

For the reason I just stated; if you want the rewards, put in the time to acquire them. The only real perks that are available from factions these days for alts are the rank 2 and 3 profession patterns.

Why should you be able to craft things on a side piece just as easily as I can on my main, for the same amt of time put into gaining the rep?

Because they also put in the time, as a player?

It’s not like they’re harming me at all by buying a recipe. And it’s not like I couldn’t switch professions on a character with the reputation if there was some dire advantages to being able to access them.

How do characters lose out?

I’m trying to understand your point of view.

I used to play a ton of alts back in the day, back when I could pop on a tabard, run a boatload of dungeons and build rep in a reliable manner. This expac? I have maybe 3 max level characters, I want to level the rest of my alts. I want to play them…but the timegating based on rep just makes me feel like “Blargh” when I think about it.

If nothing else…make it a toggle. If you want to grind rep, toggle it off. Don’t want to? toggle it on. Just like flying and the pro-flying brigades constant answer. It would be optional. If you dont want to do it, dont. Simple as that.

Also rep that we worked hard for on the other faction, should also count for Exalted Reputations in the Achievement list.
