Please Give Us Account-wide Rep

I love actually playing my alts, so I vote no to account wide rep.

In cata I hit 50 exalted reps on my druid and had the insane title. It felt great, like an accomplishment I could be proud of. Then I switched mains because of design changes and tried to regrind it all again I got somewhere close to 20 reps before I switched mains yet again and this time I only did this expansions reps.

Why? Because I the player already put in the time and effort I don’t want to reinvest 100+ hours of my time doing things I’ve already done before. Like the fishing reps of legion Which are now near impossible to grind anyway because you can never find a raid group doing them, meaning it will take you 40 times longer then it did in legion.

In fact this was the last straw for me (the legion fishing reps) and I would never again touch reps if it were not required for flying. I get that account wide reps will be something many hate but for me its already decreased the value I place in them and has for nearly a decade (though the same goes for crap they randomly remove like first aid.)

Why would you stop playing your druid just because you decided to play another class for raids or whatnot ?

I agree. Why do we even have ALL these Allied Races? Whats the point? Please make reputation account wide. TY. I love playing my alts and race class combo’s but a little love is needed Blizz.

I used to feel that rep should be account-wide too, but I think I’ve come to terms that they’ll never do it, it’d break too many things like questlines and progression if alts were instantly read as being Exalted.

Mists and WotLK did it best, where maxing out a rep unlocked ways to make it easier to farm rep on alts. On Mists it was the token things that increased all rep gains by 50% account wide, and on Wrath it was the Tabards you could put on to farm rep by doing dungeons.

I feel that the biggest complain regarding rep grinding now is that so much is locked behind rep, but rep is also time-locked so that you can only farm so much every day/week. That’s why I would prefer if the Tabard system to return. If they bring those ones back they could even make them so you also get rep from older, current-expansion raids. I’ve seen lots of people who complain about the current content becoming irrelevant thanks to increased ilevel from WQs and emissaries so that’d be a good incentive to do it, even if you have to put up with LFR or something.

And (this is just me being overtly optimistic and I wouldn’t expect them to do this) but if they bring back the Account wide rep buff, they could make it so it stacks with each character you reach exalted with. Maybe cap it so that you never go above 100 or 200% rep increase or something.

It would be nice but I can’t see it happening. Would make things too easy for us.

I normally only focus on a single character at a time at most 2.

But the druid is an exception in that I played her from vanilla to cata prepatch because of druids of azeroth (and before that cute bear) because I hated mismatched gear and this was my version of an amazing transmog.

Once transmog was released and I could no longer patch the game I had no need of her as the normal forms are in my eyes hideous.

And its more then just raids. At the time I was inclined to get every mount, pet, achievement (in wrath at least,) and rep in the game.

And it takes a long time to get these things. 52k pirate kills to get my Hyacinth Macaw as an example.

As there are always new reps, new mounts, new transmog gear, new pets (both to collect and to level,) if I spend all of my time redoing what I have already done I’m never going to get to the new stuff.

They made rep account wide for purposes of the rep achievements you know ? So if you are just doing that for the achievement you haven’t lose those reps from that druid.

yes but as someone with OCD I can’t explain the irritation of a half filled bar. Thats why I no longer grind reps. If I don’t encounter that faction its a filled bar. Now days I just deal with it unless I can’t control my mental health crap then I just don’t log in. Which sucks because wow was at one time the way I dealt with it. Make a small goal and achieve it and feel the bit of chemical high.

Maybe something like my irritation when they made achievements account wide and my individual characters didn’t get to light up those bars when they first did a dungeon or raid.

Indeed. For a long time I searched for a way to only show my characters achievments in the achievment pane.

Now days I don’t care much about it because there are just to many achievements I don’t want to try and get yet again, and I know I’m going to end up swapping mains with the new expansion. I don’t know maybe I just need a break from this game as I feel like nothing I have ever done in the past is meaningful. I guess its the first time I’ve seen the hamster wheel for what it is and wish I could unsee it.

Sure, let’s have account wide rep.

Let’s also have account wide gear, account wide gold, account wide guilds, account wide whatever. Let’s take all individual work out of the game and make everything available to everyone with as little effort as possible. We are already on that slippy slide with the pinata effect of gaining gear and mounts and pets now - hell, they are apparently putting 30 - count em 30 - mounts into the next patch. So why not make it that you need to put 5 minutes work into a toon to have it the same as every other toon you have.

Gosh, won’t the game be fun then.

And as I walk away from a game I’ve played for 10 years and loved so much, it will be due to it becoming that grey, featureless void of Zero Effort for rewards that are not rewards at all but just…stuff…

Already got that, they’re called Heirlooms.

Wouldn’t work because of factions

I was exaggerating for effect but carry on.

Oh, my bad. Sorry, am starting to get tired.

This could work for most factions, and I would appreciate that.

Grinding out old reps for the same rewards sucks. At least let us have tokens like in MoP which we can send to alts to boost rep gains.

What if they just made past expansion content rep account wide?

Would that keep both camps mostly happy?

I dont even consider myself to have a main, justban army of alts and I would really like account wide rep.

If you earn 100 rep with a toon, the other toons on the account should get 20 also, if within 10 levels of earning character.

That is my preference as a compromise.

In classic there was a thing that if you earned 100 SW rep, the other alliance factions would get 10 point out of respect for that effort if I remember it right.

The problem with bfa’s (and Legion’s) reputations is that they all take ages to raise. 75 rep points for a WQ? The Tillers gave me 75 points for picking up a turnip.

Sure wouldn’t make me happy. Past expansions reps are only for cosmetic and non essential items, if you want them you should be working for them.
