Neither did Dracthyr until they wanted to blend in with their respective societies. Of course, all of this is a moot point if we just eliminate the factions entirely, which should/would have already happened if it weren’t for Afrasiabi.

The Arakkoa in this sense are more around to serve as a check and balance: among the many races from Draenor, the Arakkoa were the most technologically-advanced race on the planet that managed to have complete uncontested rule over the southern half of the continent where the only ones who could directly challenge thd Arakkoa in those times being the Draenei under the leadership of Velen: who maintained a stance of non-aggression with his leadership knowing that his very people had possessed the same potential for Expansionism and Conquest like their Fel-infused Eredar cousins.

I would say the Draenei were the most technologically advanced, the only reason the Arakkoa didn’t have to be shown that is because the Draenei held to non-aggression. Though I do think the Arakkoa and Ogres probably stood toe to toe on technological advancement overall before the Draenei arrived.

Gods Draenor is a neat place… wish they’d shown up the place Ogres came from, that other continent that got cut.

To the Arakkoa from Alt Draenor, Azeroth is their new home and somewhere where they could easily make a new hlme and a resurgence of their Apexis Empire: furled by their ancestors duality of Light and Void practice coupled with dabblings into Druidism and the Arcane paths, and that the only reason the Apexis Civilization had fallen was due to the split of their ideologies brought on by the absence of their Raven God Anzu whom was the patron god of the Void/Arcane-sect Skalax. These Arakkoa would see a familiar kindhip with the Void Elves; outcasts from Quel’thalas due to their own studies of Void Magic and the potential dangers of the Draenei eventually falling down the same path of zealotry and dogmatism towards Non-Light beliefs as what happened with The Lightbound should Velen unexpectedly die and Turalyon be given the mantle.

I do think the Arakkoa (especially the outcast) would be an interesting group to see interacting with the Void Elves. Untapped potential story there.

While the Arakkoa would have no such qualms in siding with the Horde; the old wounds from the Iron Horde and the sense of betrayal when the Mag’har had left them to face the Lightbound on their own would still be fresh in their minds. To the Arakkoa. The Horde are primitive savages, and after hearing multiple times of strife which had resulted in the Horde fracturing into Civil War makes the Horde less stable of a faction. Alongside this there would also be the matter of the Goblins whose gear is unstable and dangerous even to themselves; and that the Arakkoa will have heard of the many times that the Goblins have screwed over many different groups or destabilized the environment seeking a profit, and that it wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility that The Arakkoa would be next on that list of rubes and suckers. The Alliance for the most part have managed to maintain their leadership in all this time where the Horde constantly fractures, and unlike with the Goblins the Gnomes and Dwarves engineering and technology haven’t been able to damage the environment and that the human lands have greatly prospered. In this time of cultural upheaval following their own departure from Alt. Draenor, the Arakkoa would prefer to have a sense of stability where they couldn’t be exploited by profiteers.

While I don’t disagree in any particular way about the Arakkoa going with the Alliance, I do think its just as likely for the Arakkoa (in either form) to go with the Horde just as well. I don’t think they’d actually see the Horde as primitive savages as they do have plenty of advanced tech and capability especially compared to the Iron Horde for the Alt Draenor Arakkoa. I don’t really see the Arakkoa greatly caring about or for the Goblins but I don’t think that would be enough for them to choose something else. It’ll come down to whatever the Arakkoa see as likely able to get what they want done done. If they’re looking for a new home away from both doomed Draenor’s then they would choose based off of who they think can provide them a safe haven on Azeroth. I can see that going for both Alliance or Horde depending.

Now personally I think I’d rather they went Alliance as I think that addition to the Alliance would be grand. I’m just not convinced they’re not easily in the pool of Neutral races.

I still see both as entirely possible.

I too think Arakkoa would be fine (even ideal) as a neutral race, just that if they only go to one side, it should be Alliance, both to give us something really cool (and also because I really want them over here >.> ), and because the Alliance has done much less to put them off than the horde has.

But mostly, I want the two types of them to be on the same side (both sides is fine for that), as a reunification looked likely after we met the order of the awakened.

The correct choice would to give the Alliance three exclusive races and us four recolors, to even out the injustice they did with the faction system.
