I took that in the context that youâve never received such, but I guess you just meant itâs been a very long time â which is fair.
That being said, thereâs still Worgen like I mentioned.
Additionally I guess you could say LFD Buuuut yâall kinda already got those, so I can understand the disposition of still wanting something ânewâ yet not very human-like.
Yeah, Alliance has it bad. Every race is basically some variant of Human. Tall human, hefty human, short human and even shorter human.
It actually matters now just as much as it ever did. What weâre referencing is the faction boundaries being broken down and the simultaneous removal of the Hordeâs identity, which will never be healthy for the game and who ever green-lit this idea, is making a terrible decision⌠to put it politely.
Back on topic, there are already neutral or alliance-adjacent races which fit the criteria OP is asking for.
But, the other option is to simply give existing races more non-human options, which could also solve the issue⌠a bit.
The Arakkoa of the Alternate I could easily see actually choose the Horde over the Alliance in a bid to retake their world from the Lightbound, left behind or not. That said I also donât see why they couldnât go for the Alliance either for the reasons you outlined.
Again, The Arakkoa would mainly go with the Alliance due to the potential threat posed by the Lightbound; fearing that the Lightforged or Turalyon might wind up going down that same blinding path that High Exarch Yrel had paved: a path that the Arakkoa had a personal investment and history with through having personally seen the zealotry of The Adherents of Rukhmar. Whom were a faction of Light-worshipping Fanatics among the Arakkoa that threatened to destroy many of their own people because of non-conformity: in one instance a guard was beaten and bloodied before being cast out of society simply because he took a break to go see a festival.
The Alliance is a wide and diverse group of people with a variety of beliefs and practices to unite them by, and yet the Lightforged Draenei and Void Elves hold onto mistrust between their two groups regardless of time; a mistrust that is also seen by Turalyon in-regards to the Dragonflights despite the open peace between the Aspects and the Mortal Races.
If the Lightbound were to come through into Azeroth and make contact with the Lightforged; Yrel might find a way to try buttering up Turalyon or subvert his authority among The Army of The Light using her own personal authority as the last living descendant of the Triumvirate. I still hold onto the theory that the reason why Yrel is so noteworthy enough for Velen to have taken her in as his disciple was because Yrel was actually the daughter of Kilâjaeden: Velen having convinced Kilâjaedensâ then-pregnant wife to abandon Argus and join with the rest of the Draenei long ago, which would also go a long way into explaining why The Deceiver was driven to torture and torment Velensâ son to transform him into Rakeesh for revenge. And it would also make the situation of the Lightbound-Magâhar War into a tragic example of Fate: in our Timeline Kilâjaeden was able to tempt Grommash Hellscream using the power of Fel into creating the Orcish Horde, in that alternate timeline High Exarch Yrel was able to tempt Gromsâ son with the Holy Light into becoming âExarch Hellscreamâ and joining the Lightbound.
Hey now, the Alliance has a lot of varied race options:
Humans
Humans that are Werewolves
Humans with Pointy Ears
Tall Humans with Long Ears
Fat Humans
Short Humans
Short Humans on Fire
Short Humans of Stone
Even Shorter Humans
Even Shorter Humans with Metal
Humans that are Dragons
Panda Bears
Space Goats
Space Goats with Tattoos
Wait this sounds more like the Arrakoa would go Horde thenâŚ
Kinda feel like since every race is humanoid we can do this to the Horde races tooâŚ
Like itâs not a stretch to sayâŚ
Green thicc humans
Pointy ear hunched humans with odd number of digits
Cow humans
Pointy ear humans with green and gold eyes.
Dead humans
Tiny green humans
Brown thicc humans
Taller upright humans with odd number digits and pointy ears
Purple tall humans with pointy ears
Moose humans
Small fox humans
Panda humans
Humans that are dragons.
Stony small humans.
According the new lore book, Sethraks are neutral nowadays and also started to trade with the Vulpera.
The problem with Drakthyr are the gender neutral-corrupted changes, Blizzard made with them. If you look at the original artworks, they are more bulkier and like actual dragons. This was one of the biggest mistakes they ever did to a player race, followed by the lack of High Elves for the Alliance and incomplete updates for various races.
And yet they look too human as well.
Human faces and hands with some elf ears mixed in. We need the corrupted ones available to even this out.
Itâs not DEI-conform either in todayâs standards. Blizzard is actually fostering a xenophobic player culture and storyline.
There is a big difference between having human features (face/nose, five fingers) and being an humanoid animal race.
The Arakkoa in this sense are more around to serve as a check and balance: among the many races from Draenor, the Arakkoa were the most technologically-advanced race on the planet that managed to have complete uncontested rule over the southern half of the continent where the only ones who could directly challenge thd Arakkoa in those times being the Draenei under the leadership of Velen: who maintained a stance of non-aggression with his leadership knowing that his very people had possessed the same potential for Expansionism and Conquest like their Fel-infused Eredar cousins.
To the Arakkoa from Alt Draenor, Azeroth is their new home and somewhere where they could easily make a new hlme and a resurgence of their Apexis Empire: furled by their ancestors duality of Light and Void practice coupled with dabblings into Druidism and the Arcane paths, and that the only reason the Apexis Civilization had fallen was due to the split of their ideologies brought on by the absence of their Raven God Anzu whom was the patron god of the Void/Arcane-sect Skalax. These Arakkoa would see a familiar kindhip with the Void Elves; outcasts from Quelâthalas due to their own studies of Void Magic and the potential dangers of the Draenei eventually falling down the same path of zealotry and dogmatism towards Non-Light beliefs as what happened with The Lightbound should Velen unexpectedly die and Turalyon be given the mantle.
While the Arakkoa would have no such qualms in siding with the Horde; the old wounds from the Iron Horde and the sense of betrayal when the Magâhar had left them to face the Lightbound on their own would still be fresh in their minds. To the Arakkoa. The Horde are primitive savages, and after hearing multiple times of strife which had resulted in the Horde fracturing into Civil War makes the Horde less stable of a faction. Alongside this there would also be the matter of the Goblins whose gear is unstable and dangerous even to themselves; and that the Arakkoa will have heard of the many times that the Goblins have screwed over many different groups or destabilized the environment seeking a profit, and that it wouldnât be outside the realm of possibility that The Arakkoa would be next on that list of rubes and suckers. The Alliance for the most part have managed to maintain their leadership in all this time where the Horde constantly fractures, and unlike with the Goblins the Gnomes and Dwarves engineering and technology havenât been able to damage the environment and that the human lands have greatly prospered. In this time of cultural upheaval following their own departure from Alt. Draenor, the Arakkoa would prefer to have a sense of stability where they couldnât be exploited by profiteers.
But, also, consider:
The Night Elves have been working hard to clear the corruption around the world. Like the Manâari, certain Satyrs have come forward to repent, a number that grows larger with the increasing amounts of corruption cleared from the worlds. Thus,
