Like seriously, can we please take the “Writhing Segment of Drest’agath” trinket and drop it onto the NERF tree and let it hit every branch on the way down. It is still the most used DPS trinket in PvP and it is from the BFA expansion. There is no excuse for it do as much damage as it does and Rogues are absolutely abusing it with their 100% guaranteed crit legendary.
I 100% expected this to be addressed today, especially since they purged all the old world exploitable gear in the pre-patch. I guess we’ll have to hope for the best in the next round of tuning…
The leggo won’t be nerfed soon. It’s easier and more practical to get rid of a outdated trinket that shouldn’t be working in any environment of Shadowlands.
So then this thread repeats tommorow with “Nerf Skulkers/Dreadfire/XXX”
The problem still remains, meanwhile we nerf the trinkets more so they are unusable for every class that isnt a Rogue. the trinkets are not the problem the legendary is.
theres zero reason that a trinket that plagued the last expansion should still be an issue in the next one. asking for them to nerf drest (again) isnt ignorant in any way at all. its wanting the game to not be ruined by pve trinkets for a second expansion in a row, especially when the trinket isnt even from the current expansion.
The SL trinkets with the massive reduction still do MUCH more damage than Drest does.
The problem is NOT drest, the problem is Rogues Leggo…
Dres does 3.5k Skulkers does 12k, Skulkers got a 55% nerf okay, thats still 6k damage, and when a rogue gets it, it will do its almost its full 12k damage.
THAT IS THE ISSUE HERE.
Lets not even mention Dreadfire, that does 14k :P.
just because the game is made by pve players doesnt mean they can be ignorant to the problems in pvp, its made by the same people and have had the best players in the game giving them advice for the past decade or so. and if they dont want to outright disable pve trinkets in pve, then they can effectively do the same thing by nerfing them by 90%, then yeah sure the people who wanna use them just to use them can, but theyre not going to do anything impactful.
